JESUS CHRIST I5 LORD!
V "No one has ever been up to Heaven except the Son of
Man who came down from Heaven."
When Jesus made the above statement about himself he
was interpreting the Christmas story. That life that
throbbed in the manger was a new kind of life on earth
—the life of the Son of God who came down from heaven.
If we accept His life as a gift we can rejoice before Christ-
mas, during the season and more so when the tinsel has
been burned.
Have you accepted Him as your gift? He alone is able
to fill the heart with gladness in this age and in the age
to come.

Walper Home At Dashwood Attracts
Many to View Christmas Decorations
One of the most attractively
decorated properties in this
area is that of Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin Walper, at Dashwood,
where a winter fairyland has
cone to life again this year.
Over 1200 gaily colored Christ;
Inas lights twinkle to all the
viewers.
The snow-white carpet at the
base of the display appears as a
jewelled mantle against the
sleep blue velvet of the sky.
And between the two, bright
sparkly and soft glowy lights
sway to and fro in the frosty
December air.
The Walpers began the pro-
ject six years ago in a modest
way. At that time, about 200
lights hung from the house and
garage and one Christmas tree.
Over the next years, other focal
points were added such as the
Christmas carolers, Santa and
his reindeer and the giant set

A large golden cross and a
silver Star of the East symbo-
lize the true spirit of Christmas
as they hover over the galaxy
of lights. They are mounted on
two 40 foot steel posts and, in
the darkness, seem to hang sus-

Mr. Walper, an auctioneer,
says that the display of lights
has atracted people from as far
away as Toronto, Hamilton and
Detroit, and added that some
folks' return year after year to
view the lovely sight which this
year took Mr. and. Mrs, Walper
and two men a week to install.

Recount Fails To
Help hi Stephen
Proponents of beverage rooms
in Stephen Township gained 12
votes in an official recount Sat-
urday, but fell short of the re-
quired 60 per cent majority
needed by .18 per cent. Two
more "yes" votes would have
pushed the percentage over 60,
The recount increased the
number of votes favoring bev-
erage rooms to 624. The orig-
inal count against was un-
changed at 419.
The township's two hotels,
the Dufferin in Centralia, and
the Dashwood Hotel, asked for
the recount after the December
6 vote.
Judge J. S. Hetherington, of
Goderich, conducted the re-
count.

4-H Sheep Club
Will Reorganize
The Huron County 4-H Sheep
Club will be reorganized at the
Ontario Department .of Agricul-
ture board room on Tuesday,
December 28, at 2:15 p.m.
In 1964, members of the Hur-
on 4-H Sheep Club won both
the Ontario and Canadian 4-H
fleece wool competition.
During 1965 the members
participated in a brand new
kind of 4-H Achievement Day
program at the Clinton Spring
Fair. They each exhibited a
fleece of wool and either a
yearling ewe or a ewe and her
lamb(s) from their 4-H flock.
All of the 20 members who
enrolled completed their pro-
jects. Monthly meetings were
held from December until May,
covering many aspects of Sheep
flock management. A number
of interesting field trips were
also planned. Club leaders
were Ken Black, Belgrave; R.
D. Etherington, Hensall, and
Don Lobb, Clinton.
