Obituary
MRS. MARY ANN POSTER
Mrs. Mary Ann Foster, 83, of
Egmondville, died Friday in
Seaforth Community Hospital.
She was the widow of Nicholas
Foster.
Born in Waterloo she had
lived on a farm near Zurich for
more than 30 years, For the
last 16 years she lived in Eg-
mondville.
Surviving are four daughters,
Mrs. Luella Stemmler, Egmond-
ville; Mrs. Dorsina Lang, Wat-
erloo; Mrs. Martha Hay, Dela-
ware, and Mrs. Irene Herzog,
Kitchener; two sons, Edgar Fos-
ter, Kitchener, and Andrew, of
Sarnia.
Prayers were said Saturday
and Sunday evening at 8:30 at
the W. J. Cleary funeral home,
Seaforth. The body rested at
the funeral home until Mon-
day when requiem high mass
was said at 10 a.m. at St. James'
Roman Catholic Church, Sea -
forth. Rev. H. J. Laragh offici-
ated, and burial was in St.
James' Cemetery Seaforth.

He pointed out that he had
attended 300 meetings and ex-
pected the total would rise to
350 by the end of the year.
He complimented the weekly
newspapers of the county for
their coverage of county coun-
cil meetings and suggested the
ratepayers could get all the in-
formation he had simply by
reading their weekly newspap-
ers.
James Hayter, last year's
deputy -reeve and representat-
ive to county council, reported
on his work with the health
committee. On the local level
he pointed out some of the pro-
blems which must be faced
during the nekt year. He indic-
ated
ndicaated the investigation into the
shortage of township funds
mist be completed and the to-
wnship will have to find an
assessor. With the new regul-
ations he suggested this will be
difficult. He pointed out that
the new central school which
will be opened next year will
increase the traffic of heavy
buses on township roads and
called for an increase in spen-
ding to improve these.

Lutheran Church
On December 5 a Christmas
party for golden aged mem-
bers of St. Peter's Lutheran
Church was enjoyed by thirty
guests. Youths and children
highlighted the afternoon with
their talents of singing and pi-
ano playing.
The president, Mrs. Carl Wil-
lert gave the welcome address
and the opening devotions.
Cheryl Turkheim gave a read-
ing, "What Christmas means
to me." Miss Elaine Westlake

ning," Their grandmother, Mrs.
B. Hess was their pianist.
Robbie Doerr played two pi-
ano numbers, Rumba and Beau-
tiful Dreamer. Rev. Blackwell
spoke briefly and said, "Age

life you take the best." Mrs.
William Lawrence gave clos-
ing remarks to guests and en-
tertainers.
