She answers letters of general interest, in this column but can't undertake persona, replies. DEAR DORIS — I have this burning passion to go into act- ing as a career or maybe other :forms of entertainment. It isn't the money, not quite the glam- or, but I just like entertaining people. I've heard that almost every kind wants to be an actor and that they get over it sooner or later. Every movie I see in- spires me all the more so that I just can't sit still, and I don't think I'll get over it. I think I've a talent for acting. Could you tell me how or where I could learn to act? I'm 13 and in grade nine and wait- ing impatiently to get into school plays. weaecasseamesememeem EMMANUEL EVANGELICAL United Brethren Church ZURICH Rev. M. You Are Welcome ZiffillEMPEEMEMSZOgaN Baba DEAR FABS—From the mo- ment we can toddle we love to don Mom's lace curtains or sport an artificial beard; and to step out in the land of make- believe. What little person hasn't thrilled to a game of "let's pretend?" As we grow up, the real world takes over, for the most part. But dramatics are a way of e x - pressing some of those pent-up emotions—when we "can't sit still". Follow your star -- at least into school and church plays. If you find the hard grind that goes with perfection is not too much for you, the way will be- come clear. Whether or not you earn money at it, skill at acting can give you great pleas - St. Peter's Lutheran Church Rev. A. C. Blackwell, B.A., B.D. Pastor Mrs. Audrey Haberer, Organist SUNDAY, 10:00 a.m.—Sunday School 11:00 a.m.—Worship Service You Are Welcome JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! "The heaven and the earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35.. The writings of the Fathers will pass away, the tradition of the church shall pass away, the opinions of men shall pass away but my words shall not pass away. Where is your confidence placed? Are you deluded by the writings of the Fathers, public opinion, newspaper propaganda? Why not study the words of our Lord to see how they rise above all these. It is ane or the other, it cannot be both. Jesus Christ demands first and com- plete loyalty. THE MENNONITE EVANGELISM COMMITTEE tire to you and to others, all your life long, DEAR DORIS—I am a moth- er, 'age 66. My problem is my son. Ile is separated and lives with another woman with three kids. This all hit me so hard last year I got a nervous break- down. There are times when I feel I could commit suicide or eat sleeping pills. My stomach is tied in knots. It's a long story, dear Doris. I wonder if I can talk to you in person before anything worse happens, Can't Sleep DEAR CAN'T SLEEP—Look you've done your job with your son. He's a grown man now and responsible for his own aetions. Since medical science has now given us many extra healthy years, it behooves us to make use of them. Take enough sleeping pills to get some rest — and no more. Then look around for a new and absorb- ing hobby or public service which will use your talents and. get your mind off a situation about which you can do noth- ing. I .am sorry, but I live hun- dred of miles away from you. But you should seek someone to talk to. * * DEAR DORIS—Since we are separated, my husband has kept returning. He would always whine that he had no place to go and no money. I told him that as long as he was not drunk he could come and use his bed- room, rather than freeze some place. One night he did conte in drunk, and after that I locked the door. Then he got in through the window. He struck both me and the boy. I called the police and he was told to stay away, but the very next day he returned as if nothing had happened. Zurich Mennonite JESUS CHRIST IS LORD JESUS CHRIST EST SEIGNEUR Pastor: Orval M. I'd guess the police — and the judge — feel you are letting them down, as well as your little son. He can twist you around his little finger. But will giving hien a bed cure even a "slight touch of cancer?" He knows where to find a doctor. But you need to stand firm.
