It's easy to make money-.
This statement was made by
Roy Jodrey. of Nova Scotia, who
described as "the most unlikely
millionaire". This is part of
an interesting interview coming
up on Telescope on May 28 at
9:30 over CBC -TV. Jodrey is a
millionaire many times over,
director of some 40 companies
and one of Canada's most pow-
.erfui financiers.
Here are some of the state-
ments he made on this taped
interview: "I don't think it's
any trouble to make money;
but the first thing is --you've
got to learn to save it. 'Course
if you want to really .make
money, you got to borrow it
and pay interest on it and see
where you go from there."
His first job as a youngster
was picking apples for 41,<2 cents
an hour. He got free board,
so was able to keep all the 414
rents.
Vote projections during the
last U.S. election left a ques-
tion in the minds of many. Did
the predictions influence the
public? A study was made and
no evidence was found to con-
firm this notion.
According to the report's
findings, 884"2 of all voters
across the nation had gone to
the polls on election day 1964
before 7 p.m. — the time when
the major networks went on the
air with their election -night
coverage.
MARRIED IN ZURICH—Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence A.
Becker were married recently in St. Boniface Church, Zur-
ich, by Father C. A. Doyle. The bride is Dianne, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Dietrich, Zurich, and the groom
the son of Mr, and Mrs. Arnold Becker, Crediton.
The survey also shows that
among voters who heard elec-
tion predictions by ,the net-
works, 81% voted in line with
their pre-election intentions;
among those who did not hear
any network projections, only
524" remained consistent with
their pre -elections bias.
It would seem that persons
exposed to predictions about
election results were more sta-
ble and changed less than per-
sons not so exposed.

ZURICH
It has become almost standard practice
today for people to go to their bank to
finance the purchase of cars and other
family items. You, too, may have found it
a good idea to borrow where you save — at
your local bank. It is often simpler, because
the bank already knows you as a savings
customer. And it also may save you money
because bank loans are low-cost loans. For
borrowing and saving, and for any other
bank service you may need, just visit your
local chartered bank. It's the one place
where you can get all your banking done,
under one roof.
THE CHARTERED BANKS
SERVING YOUR COMMUNITY
Through 5,650 branches, all across Canada,
the chartered banks bring full -range banking
