Zur- ich wort the first ;,ams on their home ice, only to have Drayton win their home game, played at Mount Forest. The locals won the flip for the site of the third ;game, and came through with a big 9-6 victory to wrap tip the championship, on Hen - sail ice. By virtue of their winning the WOAA title. the locals now ad- vance into the semi-final: of the O11IIA, and will meet Platte- ville in a two -out -of -three series. First game will be played in • New Hamburg this Friday night' 1,.ain�t . ' scheduled with the second game for the Hensall Arena next Monday night. Take Early Lead A pair of Dashwood youth, Bill Hoffman and Bob Miller, paced the Zurich attack in the big victory with three goals each. Other marksmen were Win WOAA 1tsviiIe Next Bill Sebade, Barry Bloch and Ken Westlake with one each. The locals jumped into an early lead in the first period, when Hoffman, Schade and Mil- ler all found the range. They held the visitors to one lone goal in the initial stanza. Both teams score (1 three times in the second. with IIoff- pian and 1lliller each scoring • their second goal of the game and Barry Bloch finding the . range for the third counter, for the locals. In the third period it was Hoffman and Miller again lead- ing the way with one goal each, while Ken Westlake potted the !final marker midway through the sessoti. Drayton was held to two goals in the third, Don Culp was the big gun un fur the visitors with four goals, while Herb Hammond and Bill Smith each registered one. Gary Geoffrey, in the Zurich nets, was a stand -out in the lo- cal's victory as he turned aside shot after shot that were meant for sure goals. The occasion is being called "All-Star Minor Hockey Night", and is sponsored by the Hensall Minor Athletic Association, a in co-operation with the Zurich Minor Athletic Association. Activities get under way at 7 p.m. when the Hensall Tykes play host to the Zurich Tykes. Following this event, the Zur- ich Squirts will do battle with the Hensall Squirts, and then to round out the evening the Hensall and Zurich PeeWees will tangle, in what promises to be a real thriller.
