Fire Hall Specifications Altered
Council Sets New Tendering Date
An addendum to the original
specifications for Zurich's new
fire hall has been completed
and is on its way to contrac-
1wrs.
Village council revealed at
Monday night's meeting that
bidding contractors found the
first specifications, drawn up by
Peter's Architectural and Me-
chanical Drafting Service in
Exeter, incomplete as far as the
legal aspects of tendering were
concerned.
The London architectural
firm of Blackwell, Haggarty and
Buist were called in to make
the necessary alterations and
additions to the specifications.
i
Consequently, a new tender-
ing date has been set for March
31, 1905, at 6 p.m., about one
month later than the original
date of February 24.
The r e v i s e d specifications
call for no exact date when the
construction shall be completed,
other than to say that "each
tenderer shall.state state the earliest,
possible completion date consis-
tent with established construc-
tion methods and practice.
Council had hoped the pro-
ject could be completed in time
for the Dominion holiday, July
1, 1965. It is possible work
will now not be finished until
later in the summer in view of
the change in tendering date.

When the Easter Seal campaign opens
on March 18, one of the important services
that will be helped by Easter Seal donations
is the special clinics for crippled children
held in many parts of Ontario, This young
boy has just been fitted with new braces

to the Easter Seal campaign makes this pro-

Murray Keller, 10 year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Keller, RR 2, Dashwood, escaped
with only minor abraisons and
bruises late Saturday afternoon
when he was pinned beneath
the weight of a small barn.
The youth was assisting with
the demolition of the building,

owned by his brother, Karl Kel-
ler, RR 2, Dashwood.
Passing motorists aided the
proprietor in holding some of
the wreckage off the victim
until equipment arrived to lift
the heavy rubble sufficiently to
free him.
It is believed soft, muddy
ground underfoot and the heavy
clothes worn by the youth pre-
vented more serious injury.
Dr. V. Gulens, Dashwood, at-
tended at the scene. The lad
was taken by ambulance to
South Huron Hospital, where he
was reported to be in satisfac-
tory condition.
