The members have received complaints from local store owners in the area who feel the move will affect their busi- ness. Objections have also been raised by parents who are op- posed to the cost and color of the outfits. The board members main- tained they had known nothing about the uniforms until it came out in the press. Laird Mickle said the board should take no action since the money for the uniforms would not come out of public funds. 0 About People You Know .. . Zurich Council (Continued from Page 1) necessary "in a town this size". It was noted it could probably be installed more cheaply now than later. There are indica- tions that the OWRC may de- mand with a few years that con- densers be installed at all arti- ficial ice rinks. O'Brien said they may get different ideas from other firms. Gordon Hess wondered aloud if the use of fans and other devices might perform the same function as a con- denser at a more economical price. Horse Show Question W. B. Coxen asked if the an- nual horse show could be held in the arena when the pipes for the artificial ice system are laid. O'Brien said the pipes would be covered with about two inches of concrete. About four inches of clay would be hauled on top of it in advance of the horse show. The clay would be frozen prior to the show and the cool- ing plant would be shut off the morning of the event. The clay should then be firm but not solid. He said this year's show would not be affected. The pipes would not go down until after the horse show. The as- sociation hopes to have ice in the local arena by November 15, 1965.
