Mrs. Mary Taylor was hostess
at her home Tuesday evening
for the June meeting of the
W.A. of St. Paul's ,Anglican
Church, with president Mrs, P.
J. Gandon presiding. Plans for
the fall order bazaar to be held
early in October were made,
when order articles will be on
display. The ladies of St. Paul's
assisted with the ham and
strawberry supper held Thurs-
day evening in Trivitt Memorial
Hall, Exeter,
Mr. James McAfee, of Bally-
money, Northern Ireland, re-
turned Saturday to Montreal,
andleft on Monday for Ireland
after a 21 clays' vacation in Can-
ada, during which time he spent
several days visiting with Mr.
and Mrs. Trevor Wilson and
• Ronnie. Mrs. Wilson is a niece
of Mr. McAfee,
Mrs. R. A. Orr and Mrs, Bev-
erly Beaton are attending the
Rebekah Assembly at Toronto,
June 22-23-24, the former as a
representative and the latter a
scholar.
Mrs. Norval Reid and Diane,
and Mrs. Bert Riley, are vaca-
tioning at McKenzie Island with
Mr. and Mrs, William Taylor
and Mary Ann.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Rigby, of
Blenheim, spent the week -end
with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snell.

Rex Dick
Public funeral service for the
late Rex Dick, who passed away
suddenly in South Huron Hos
pital, Exeter, on Monday, June
22, was held from the Bonthron
funeral home, Hensall, Wednes-
day, conducted by Rev. Fry of
Seaforth. Burial was in Hen-
sall Union Cemetery. Surviv-
ing are his wife, the former
Myrtle Taylor, and one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Audrey Martin, Lon-
don,
Mrs. Tony Charette received
a cablegram Monday from Aus-
tria, her homeland, advising her
of the tragic death of her
brother, who was crushed to
death in an accident. Mrs.
Charette spoke to her mother
by phone upon receiving word.
Steve Kyle was behind the
plate for the Chester Peg Dia-
monds, when the London squad
•met the St, Thomas Tomcats in
a Junior Intercounty baseball
game at Labatt Park Saturday
night. Chester Pegg Diamonds
won with a score of 22-1, Steve
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave
Kyle, of Hensall,
Mrs. Olive Walker, of Wing -
ham, is visiting with her daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
John Heal, and family.
Miss Diane Elliott, of Clinton,
is vacationing with her sister
and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Moir, Garry and Randy.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Welsh,
of Edmonton, Alta., spent a few
days last week visiting with
their cousins, Mr. and Mrs.
Laird Mickle, and family.
Miss Patricia and Barbara
Schwalm have accepted posi-

Mr. and Mrs, Alf Scholl and
Gary left Sunday by plane for
Edmonton, Alta, where they
will vacation for a week.
Young People
Hensall-Chiselhurst Young
People's Union held their dos-
ing meeting of the season until
they resume in September, on
Sunday evening. President Ted
Mock chaired the meeting. Miss
Mary Payne read sacred pass-
ages and Bill Chipchase offered
prayer. Members assisted the
U.C.W. by selling tickets for the
smorgasbord supper held in the
United Church, Wednesday.
Mrs. Erma Lowery and Linda,
who have been residents of
Hensall for the past two years,
took up residence in Exeter this
week and- will live with Mrs.
Low,very's daughter and son-in-
law, Mr, and Mrs, Murray Brint-
nell, and family for the summer
months. They will be ranch
missed from the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Campbell,
Mr. and Mrs, George Armstrong
and families attended the Hen-
derson family picnic at Pina-
fore Park, St. Thomas, on Sun-
day, attended by 100 members
of the elan who enjoyed the
day renewing acquaintances,
The many friends of Mrs. E.
R. Davis will regret to learn
she is a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. We wish her
a speedy recovery.

Rebekah Lodge regular meeting
held in the Lodge Hall. Con-
ducting the opening and closing
exercises, Mrs. John Ingrain re-
ported sending treats to mem-
bers unable to be out.

United Church this Sunday,
June 28, and continue through
July. Guest minister will be
Rev. Edward Baker, missionary
from Korea.
Funeral service for Alvin R.
Austin, of Varna, 64, rural mail
carrier for 28 years, who died
suddenly Thursday was held
from the Box funeral home,
Seaforth, Monday, June 22, with
burial in Baird's cemetery. Sur-
vivors are one sister, Mrs, Floyd
Schell, St. Petersburg, Fla.; one
brother, William, Seaforth.

Obituary
MRS. MARGARET M. KEYS
Mrs. Margaret M. Keys passed
away on Friday, June 19, at the
Welland Nursing Home. She
was the former Margaret Ross,
wife of the late Rev. Dr. J.
Melvin Keys, and was born in
the Seaforth district.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Dr. Ross (Mildred) Orr,
and three grandchildren, Deb-
orah, Barbara and Cheryl, St.
Catharines; two sisters Mrs.
Jake (Lillian) Broome, Mrs.
John (Norma) Byermann, Sea -
forth; two brothers, Charles A.
Ross, Searsport, Maine; Malcolm
F., Rochester, Mich.
Her husband, who predeceas-
ed her in 1962, served as min-
ister at charges at Arthur, St.
Marys, Shakespeare, retiring to
