Institute Meets
Hensall Women's Institute
will hold their October meeting
in the Legion Hall, Wednesday
evening, October 11, at 8:15
p.m. Roll call, exchange of
potted plants. The motto "Bur-
ied seeds grow, buried talents
never grow," prepared by Mrs.
Ian McAllister, will be given by
Mrs. Lorne Chapman. A good

brought home on Saturday and

Draw Winners
Mrs. Ross Richardson, Zurich,
was the winner of the reclining
chair, and Miss Gwen Hay, of
Varna, the pop-up toaster, in a
draw Saturday night at the
Lodge Hall. Mr. Elgin McKin-
ley, of Zurich, drew the winning
tickets. The project, sponsored
by the CPT committee of the
IOOF and Amber Rebekah Lod-
ges, was a great success finan-
cially.

of Mr. and Mrs. John Soldan,
Pat and Mike.
Mrs. Ila Wood, Santa Barbara,
California, is visiting with her
sister, Mrs. Alda Simmons, the
former Ila Dinsdale, of Kippen.
It is 16 years since Mrs. Wood
was here. She flew here from
California.
Mrs. D. Ross MacDonald, Mrs.
Gordon Troyer, and Mrs, Gord-
on Schwalm, attended the Ex-
plorers and COC Leaders Train-
ing Course at Blyth last Wednes-
day night.
Mr. and Mrs, Rodger Venner
visited over the weekend with
the latter's parents, in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bell and
Helen, London, visited on Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Troyer and family.
Mrs. Sarah Glazier is spend-
ing a. few weeks in Stratford
with her son and daughter-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Glaz-

The Talent Show, sponsored
by the Bayfield Agricultural
Society fo rthe schools taking
part in the School Fair was well
received, with eight schools
participating in the afternoon.
The top five entries compe-
ted again in the arena at night,
with the following results: SS 4,
West Stanley, first, Mr. Eugene
Bender, teacher; SS 1, Stanley,
second, Mrs. Jean Taylor, tea-
cher; Room 1, Holmesville, thi-
rd, Mr. Siertsema, teacher;
Room 2, Holmesville, fourth,
Miss Mary H. Yeo, teacher; SS
3 Stanley, fifth, Mrs. Clara Scott
teacher.
