Leaving New York on June 9, she arrived June 18 and enjoyed her boat tripon the S.S. Very few own refrigerators and electrical equipment like we have in Can- ada; mostly gas stoves are used. Amsterdam is the capital of Holland, and the oldest church there was built in 1306. In Leeuwarden, capital of Fries- land, they have more cattle than people, and their cattle market every Friday is very famous." She visited the military ceme- tery at Osterbeek in the prov- ince of Gelderland, burial ground for the soldiers fallen in the battle of Arnheim, Septem- ber, 1944. St. John's Church in Gouda is very famous for its fine stained glass windows which is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the world.
