Mr. Israel Wilhelm a n d daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Taylor .(bridal couple) of Milverton, were Sun- day visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester L. Smith, Miss Elizabeth Bannister has enrolled at Westervelt College for the coming term, and began her studies there last week. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Haberer and Mr. and Mrs. George Thiel spent Sunday in Mitchell, where they visited with relatives. Mr. Bob Taylor, of Sutton, spent the weekend ' with his friend, Robert Westlake, in Zur- ich. The two young men are at- tending Embalming College at Toronto together. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Gascho and Mr, and Mrs. Neil Walker spent the past weekend on a fishing trip to Lake Ahmic, in northern Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Fritz have returned to their home in Exe- ter, after spending the sum- mer at their cottage in the Par- ry Sound district. St. Peter's CWL ST. JOSEPH — The regular monthly meeting of the CWL of St. Peter's Parish, was held at the parish hall, with 22 mem- bers present. Mrs. Charles Rau, on behalf of the members, wel- comed Monsiegneur Bourdeau back to the parish. 3Ir. and Mrs. Charles Rau were chosen to be chairman and co-chairman of the Census that will take place in October. Donations to the blind were sent. The conveners for the October meeting are: Mrs. Joe Regier, Mrs. Lawrence Regier, Mrs. Lee Regier, Mrs. Clem Re- gier and Mrs. Louis Denomme. Monsiegneur Bourdeau clos- ed the meeting with prayer. . Mr, Charles Silber, of Farm- ington, Michigan, a native of Zurich, is spending a few days in the village, renewing old acquaintances. Mr, and Mrs. James Hackett and family, of Galt, were 'week- end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Steinback. The following were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Gascho and other friends, also attending the wed- ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Gascho: Mr. and Mrs. Hen- ry Gruehn, of Sebewaing, Mich- igan; Mr. and Mrs. Verne M. Geiger, Birch Run, Mich., and Miss Leona Geiger, of Saginaw, Michigan. Mrs. Dan Trushinski a n d Brian spent the past week in Guelph. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gascho and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Rannie, of Hensall, spent Sunday in De- troit, where they attended the New York -Detroit ball game. Allan Thiel has returned to his home in Zurich, after un- dergoing surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. John Soldan, Pat and Mike, RR 1, Zurich, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoff- man, of Dashwood, attended the Clemas-Connolly wedding in London, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross McNab, and family, of Halifax, have re- turned to their home after spen- ding a few days at the home of Mrs. McNab's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gascho, Mr. and Mrs. Don O'Brien, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ducharme, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bedard attended the New York -Detroit ball game in Detroit on Sunday. Miss Sarah Bannister, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bannis- ter, Zurich, has accepted a pos- ition -on the nursing staff at the New Liskeard and District Hos- pital, in northern Ontario. PHO1lE 154 ZURICH WEDDING Rader-Clausius ZURICH — Attractive arran- gements of pink and white gla- diolus formed the setting for a wedding in the Blake Mennon- ite Church, on Saturday, Sept- ember 16, at 2:00 o'clock, when Karen Ann Clausius and Don- ald Lewis Rader exchanged wed- ding vows. Rev. Ephriam Gin- gerich officiated. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Clausius, Zur- ich, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ra- der, RR 3, Zurich, are parents of the groom. Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride chose a floor length gown of nylon organza. The sheered bodice was styled with lily -point sleeves and a neckline trimmed with seed pearls and sequins. The gath- ered skirt was trimmed with a ruffle of nylon organza held in place by tiny clusters of seed pearls and se- quins. A crown of pearls and sequins held her fingertip veil and she carried a white Bible crested with red roses and streamers. Ruth Clausius, sister of the bride, was maid of honour and Linda Rader, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. They wore street length gowns of aqua nylon organza with match- ing head pieces and carried nose- gays of pink carnations. Cheryl Clausius, sister of the bride, was flower girl and she wore a pink organza dress with matching head band and carried blue tinted carnations. Groomsman was Wesley Rad- er, brother of the groom, and Wayne Clausius and Keith Ra- der ushered. Hugh Clausius, uncle of the bride, sang the `Lord's Prayer" and "The Voicet hat breathed over Eden," was sung by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gingerich, Mrs. Ephriam Gingerich and Hugh Clausius. The reception was held at the Dominion Hotel, Zurich. For receiving guests, the bride's mother chose a lilac lace dress with beige accessories and a yellow carnation corsage. The groom's mother wore a magen- ta organza dress, with beige ac- cessories and a corsage of yel- low carnations, For a wedding trip to the eas- tern states, the bride wore an embossed rayon -cotton benga- line sheath with matching jac- ket and a red taffeta cummer- bund, red accessories and a oorsage of red roses. ,The young couple will reside on the groom's farm, at RR 3, Zurich. Gas- cho, of Zurich, celebrated their Golden Wedding anni- versary last Wednesday, Sept- ember 13. Immediate mem- bers of their' family were pre- sent for the occasion, which took place in the basement of the Evangelical UB Church. Mrs. Gascho was the form- er Erma Geiger, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Geiger, of Hay Township. They were married 50 years ago at the home of the bride's parents, by the late Rev. G. F. Brown, then minister of the Zurich Evangelical Chur- ch. Miss Leona Geiger, youn- gest sister of the bride, acted as flower girl and ring bearer, while another'sister, Miss Al- berta Geiger played the wed- ding march. The late Mrs. Edrnetnd McMurtchie, former- ly Laura Geiger, was the brid- esmaid, and the groomsman was the late Garnet Jacobe. Mr. Gascho is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gas- cho, of Zurich. Up until a few months ago, when he re- tired, Mr. Gascho was an ac- tive partner in the business known as Gascho Brothers. The couple have two child- ren, a daughter, Marjorie, Mrs. Orville Witmer, of Zur- ich, and a son, Allan, of Zur- ich. Out of town relatives pres- ent for the occasion last Wed- nesday were from Saginaw, Sebewaing, and Birch Run, Michigan, Exeter, Harriston, and Grand Bend.
