Mrs. George Thompson and
Mrs. Hugh McMurtrie spent a
week with Mrs. R. S. Hopkins
at her summer cottage on Sad-
dle Lake Island, Michigan.
Mrs. George Wilson, of Lower
East Pubnico, NS, is vacation •

ing with her daughter and son-
-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Johnston and family. Mrs. Wil-
son flew here.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Keys and
family, of Burlington, were
weekend guests with Mr. and
Mrs. J. E. McEwen.
Beach Party
South Huron Youth for Christ
held a successful beach party
at Goderich, Saturday. night. Af-
ter sports activities, an hour-
long boat ride was enjoyed, and
following this a devotional per-
iod. at which Lorri Stuckey, of
Wingham, led a sing -song, and
Edgar Cudmore of Exeter pre-
sented a short meassage on the
importance of "Christian Young
People in the Community.".
Weiners were served by the lo-
cal Goderich Young People.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Simpson,
Detroit, Mich., were weekend
visitors with Mrs. L. Simpson.
Mr. R. J. Pearce, Toronto,
spent the weekend with his sis-
ter, Mrs. W. B. Cross, who ac-
companied him to Sauble Beach
to vacation for three weeks.
Miss Mary Pearce, Toronto,
who has spent the past week
with her sister, Mrs. W. B.
Cross, is holidaying at Sauble
Beach.
A family dinner was held in
the Legion Hall, Sunday, by the
family of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James Sangster, with 30 mem-
bers of the family attending
from Penhold, Alta., Hamilton,
London, Clinton and Hensall.
F10 George Sangster, who
has been stationed at the RCAF
Station Homilton for the past
three years has been transferred
to Rivers, Man.
Celebrate Anniversary
Miss Cassie Dougall entertain-
ed Monday evening for Mr. and
Mrs. George Hess, on the occas -
.ion of their Wedding Annivers-
ary. Other guests included Mr.
Blind People Go
On Bus Trip
On Saturday, July 29, 31 blind
people from the counties of El-
gin, Huron, Middlesex and Per-
th, the area served by the Lon-
don office of The Canadian Na-
tional Institute for the Blind,
will be driven by chartered bus
to the new Lake Joseph sum-
mer camp for the blind.
On an 18 -acre site on Lake
Joseph in the heart of the Mus-
kokas, one large building has
been constructed which will
house all camp facilities includ-
ing single and double bedrooms
accommodating 120 campers
and staff; also dining and re-
creation areas, craft room,
laundry facilities, snack bar and
and Mrs. John Jarrott. The ev-
ening' was spent in a social
hour of euchre, and gifts were
presented to the celebrants.
Sgt. and Mrs. Victor Stan,
Jimmy and Dale, of Penhold,
Alta., are visiting relatives in
the district. Mrs. Stan is the
former Laura Sangster, of Hen-
sall.
Mr. Stewart McQueen, who
underwent surgery last Friday
in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, is doing as well as can he
expected.
A second group of pupils of
Miss Greta Lammie will present
a Kiddies Studio Party over
CKNX, Wingham, on Saturday,
July 29, at 11:00 a.m.
Mr. M. Johnston, of St. Cath-
arines, visited over the week-
end with Mrs. Basil Edwards,
returning home Tuesday of this
week, accompanied by his wife
who had been vacationing with
her aunt, Mrs. Edwards.

facilities for all ages. Qualif-
ied lifeguards are in attendance.
A large portion of the 18 ac-
res has been left in its natural
state. Trails have been cut
through this woodland so that
the blind campercan enjoy the
sounds and smells of nature at
their best. A wide variety of
outdoor and indoor activities is
planned for the blind campers
and their escorts.

Mr. and Mrs. James Crosby
and three children, of St. Cath-
arines, visited last week with
the latter's sister and brother-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James
Drummond. Brian returned
with them for a„vaction.
Master James Roberts is vaca-
tioning with his grandmother,
Mrs. K. Roberts, in London.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Sproule, of
Seaforth, visited Saturday even-
ing with Mr. and Mrs. W. L.
Mellis and on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Bourke, of Wrox-
eter.

Kenneth and Grant Jones
were successful in winning
third prize for their vocal duet
on the amateur show at Kirk -
ton garden party, on July 19.
There were 18 entrants in all.
Family Gathering
A bounteous picnic supper
was held on the lawn of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Jones, when 30
members of the families of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy McBride, Zurich,
and Mrs. Pearl Love, met for a
family gathering.
Mr. and Mrs. K. McLellan and
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dickert
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Anson Wolfe, of Melbourne.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and.
Mrs. Harold Jones were Mr. and
Mrs. Russell' Finkbeiner and
Elva, of Crediton.
Mr. and Mrs. G -rant Love, of
Cairo, Michigan, spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar
McBride, and other relatives.
