Neighbours hbours. and Friends Honour
u
Bride -Elect Prior To Marriage
e
Miss Gloria Gingerich, R.N. a
bride elect of this Saturday was
the guest of honor at a miscel-
laneous shower given by neigh-
bours and friends of the Goshen
and Babylon Lines.
Several games and contests
were conducted by Mrs, Harold
Rader. The winners of the ga-
mes were Mrs. Maurice Fink-
beiner and Mrs. Cleve Ginger-
ich, while the winners of the
contests were various groups.
Miss Catherine Rader read
the address "To the July Bride"
while Misses Carole and Mar-
lene Gingerich presented the
gifts. Miss Theresa Regier
made the ribbons and bow hat
which was later worn by the
bride -elect.
Miss Gingerich, in a very gra-
cious manner , thanked the
guests for the lovely gifts and
the ladies were invited to see
her trousseau following the
lunch hour.
"To the July Bride"
The groom is at the altar, and
the organ's playing low,
Young and old, your firends are
1
waiting, they are sitting row
on row.
Now your girlhood's all behind
you, in a few brief minutes
more
You'll be wife to him who's
waiting, through the years
that lie before.
Oh I say it not to dawnt you,
but to strengthen you for fate
In the distance for your coming
many heavy trials wait.
Who so enters into marriage ta-
kes a very solemn vow
To be faithful to the other when
the days are not as now.
Arm in arm you'll walk toge-
ther through the lane of
many years
Side by side you'll reap life's
pleasures, side by side you'll
shed your tears.
Tis a long road you'll be faring,
for I've journeyed half the
way
But if faith and love sustain
you you will triumph come what
may.
There's the happy time of mar-
riage„ but to every man and
wife

Also come the hurts and sor-

life,
For by these your faith is test-

shall grow
And my prayer is love will gui-

Dear Gloria:

Holiday Check List
For Gardeners
If you want to enjoy your
garden in the fall, give it some
faithful attention before you
leave on your vacation. John
A. Weall, of the Department of
Horticulture at the Ontario Ag-
ricultural College, suggests that
you see to these things before
you go on holidays.
Don't cut the lawn to less
than one inch in height. It
won't hurt it to have a vacation
from mowing.
