Women's Institute
Elects Officers
Citizenship and Education was
the theme for the April meeting
of the Zurich Women's Institute.
Mrs, William Hay was chairlady
for the program. The Institute
Ode, Mary Stewart Collect and
Lord's Prayer were said in unison,
after which "Christ, the Lord Is
Risen Today" was sung. Mrs. Paul
Corriveau gave a reading on
"Spring."
Gwen Hay gave two musical
numbers on her piano accordian.
Mrs. Amacher gave information
on the Syrian, Lebanese and Arm-
enian people. Paul Anka a popular
singer, is of Syrian origin. Joseph
Krash, a popular photoprapher of
Ottawa, is of Armenian dissent.
Mrs. Beatrice Hess sang a solo,
"When you come to the end of the
allITIPUNomik
Day."
Rev, W. P. Fischer outlined the
history of Nova Scotia, also show-
ed colored pictures taken while he
was living there..
The election of officers was held,
as follows: past president, Mrs.
Leonard Erb; president, Mrs. Del-
bert Geiger; vice-president, Mrs.
Jack Bannister; secretary, Mrs. Har-
old Thiel; assistant, Mrs. A. M.
Amacher; treasurer, Mrs. Newell
Geiger; branch director, Mrs, Law-
rence Regier.
Mrs. Bannister and Mrs. Newell
Geiger were appointed to the South
Huron Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Delbert Geiger and Mrs.
Leonard Erb were appointed for
the Red Cross.
The District annual will be held
at Kippen on Thursday, May 11.
Hostesses were Mrs, William
Hay, Mrs, A. M. Amacher and Mrs.
Paul Corriveau.

Miss Miranda Brown and Miss
Aileen Ratz, missionaries on fur-
lough from Halifax, spent a few
days with their friends, Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Gingerich, and other re-
latives at Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gingerich
and family, accompanied by the
former's mother, Mrs. Sarah Ging
erich, spent Sunday at New Ham-
burg with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gingerich, ac-
companied by Mrs. Roy Gingerich,
Gingerich, attended the funeral of
iVlr, Alvin Roth, of Tavistock, who.
met with tragedy in the silo.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Martin and
family, were Sunday guests with
Mr. and Mrs, Kenneth Gingerich
and family.
Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Amos Gingerich were, Mr. and Mrs.
Neil Gingerich and daughters, Kath-
erine, Mary Ellen, and Susan Oesch
Miss Mary Ellen Burdge, of Lon-
don, spent the Easter holidays with
her grandma, Mrs. Mary Jane Hey.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Oesch spent
Sunday at London, visiting with the
former's mother, Mrs. Ezra Kiefer,
who is progressing very favourably
Mrs. Curtis Gingerich and Mrs. Ken at Victoria Hospital.

Mrs. E. Chipchase, NG, 'presided
for the regular meeting of Amber
Rebekah Lodge last Wednesday
night. Mrs. A. Orr, VG, reported
for the visiting committee. An in-
vitation from Huronic Lodge, Clin-
ton, to attend their Friendship
Night in the Collegiate this Satur-
day was accepted.
It was announced that Mrs. Eth-
el McPherson, of Huronic Lodge,
Clinton, would be the DDP of Dis-
trict 23 for the next term.
Owing to illness, members of
Brussels Lodge were unable to at-
tend andarrangements were made
to have them come on May 3.
A euchre party will be held Ap-
ril 19, following the regular meet-
ing. The annual church service of
the TOOT" and Amber Rebekah
Lodges will be held in Carmel Pres-
byterian Church, on Sunday, May
7.
