Mr. and Mrs. Peter Koehler have
moved their household effects into
the house vacated by Mr. G. Holtz-
man, in the past few days.
Mr. Sam Beacon has purchased
the residence that he has been oc-
cupying for some time from Mr.
Conrad Thiel.
The government is appointing
enumerators for the taking of cen-
sus this month, and needy return-
ed soldiers are being appointed
wherever possible.
William Brothers delivered a
valuable horse to Seaforth the other
day.
Another new business has open-
ed up in the village, Kalbfleisch and
Wagner photographer studio. No
one has any authority as to there
ability, but the best is hoped for.

The grand re -opening of the Zur-
ich Town Hall will take place this
Friday night. The Women's In-
stitute have undertaken to reno-
vate the stage, and are sponsoring

the opening night ceremony.
Mr. Valentine Becker has rented
the Herb Wein garage in Dashwood,
and has taken possession immed-
iately.
Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Stade and Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Yungblut attended
the Toronto -Guelph hockey game in
Toronto, on Friday night, when
Harold Stade was playing goal for
the Guelph team.
Mr. James Masse and crew of
workmen have been busy the past
few weeks pulling up the snow fen-
ces.
A notice has been issued that
there will be no bicycle riding al-
lowed on the sidewalks and no
roller skating on the main streets
down town.

Regis A. Denomme passed away
at his home north of Drysdale on

Private Charles Hay, of London,
has received his discharge from the
Canadian Army, and is spending
some time at the home of his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hay.
The various public school teach-
ers in this area spent a few days
last week attending a teacher's
convention in Goderich.
The minstrel show put on by the
Zurich Lions Club last Thursday
and Friday night was a huge suc-
cess, with the hall being filled both
nights.

Mrs. Rosella Krueger has taken
a position as 'ladies' sales clerk in
the Gascho Bros. store.
Mr. Albert Hess was a guest at
the banquet in honour of the Lucan
hockey team, which won the Ontar-
io Intermediate B title.
Mrs. Laird Thiel has accepted a
position as an operator with the
Hay Municipal Telephone System,
at the Zurich office.
On Monday the big township road
grader made it's annual rounds on
the streets throughout the village.
Mrs. Gus Roche was elected as
president of the Zurich Women's
Instittute for the coming year at
the annual meeting held last Mon-
day evening.

Pays Visit To
Hensall Auxiliary

Mrs. Mary McCann, of Howiek,.
zone commander of Zone 3, was
special guest at the April meeting
of the Legion Auxiliary held Last
Tuesday night. She installed Mrs.
Faith Pinsent as a member of the
auxiliary, and spoke briefly on Aux-
iliary work.
She was presented with a gift by
Mrs. William Brown, a past presi-
ident.
$10 was donated to the Tuber-
cular Veterans Summer Camp in
Niagara -on -the -lake; $25 to the local
association of Guides and Brownies,
and the Auxiliary will cater to the
Kinsmen banquet on April 12.
Application for membership was
made by Mrs. Shirley Deitz, to be-
come a member of the auxiliary.
Mrs. Jean Wilson, of Howick, won
the mystery prize, a lovely plant.
Recreation and sick reports were
submitted by Mrs. Howard Smale,
and Mrs. Cecil Kipfer.
Discussion centered around the
gigantic Penny Sale draw, to be
held May 27, with valuable prizes
donated by local merchants. Presi-
dent, Mrs. Gordon Munn, presided.
Bingo winners were Mrs. Mary
McCann, Mrs, I. Vanstone, Mrs.
Mary Taylor (2), Mrs. Maude Hed-
den (2), Mrs. Cecil Kipfer, Mrs. Wil-
liam Smale.
