Mrs. Alma Haberer had the mis-
fortune of breaking her arm on
Sunday, and was taken to South
Huron Hospital. She has returned
to her home again.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oxland and
family, of Kitchener, were weekend

Ferd Haberer.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Soper and

attended the annual hardware con-
vention in Toronto last week.

hip of Hay, attended the Municipal
Officer's Association convention in
Toronto on Monday and Tuesday
of this week.
Mr. Hubert Schilbe, who has been
engaged with Tuckey Beverages
for some time, has accepted a pos-
ition as salesman for a well-known
manufacturer of potato chips and
other similar lines.
Miss Judy Willert, of Kitchener,
was a weekend visitor with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leeland Wil-

Miss Marion Turkheim, student
at London Teacher's College, is
practice teaching east of Hensell

The February meeting of the
Dashwood Women's Institute was
held on Tuesday, February 7, with
the Historical Research group in
charge and Mrs. Ken McCrae the
convener.
The 4-H girls, who recently com-
pleted the project, 'The Club Girl
Entertains," were present and dis-
played their record books and re-
ference files, as well as presenting
their skit, "Your Table Manners.''
Twenty-two members responded
to the roll call, a verse from an old
school reader. Mrs. Emil Becker
commented on the motto, "The
world is full of willing people—
some willing to work—the rest wil-
ling to let them."
Mrs. John Rader gave the his-
tory of Jacob Rader's family. A
skit, "Businesslike" was presented
by Mrs. John Rader, Mrs. Ernest
Koehler, and Mrs. Emil Becker.
Mrs. Leonard Schenk, the presi-
dent, presided for the business. 15
ladies are to take the millinery
course in February. The Women's
Institute will canvass for the Red
Cross, in March. The entry for
WI's for the Exeter Fall Fair was
decided on.
4-H Meeting
The second meeting of the Dash-
wood 4-H Merry Maids, was held at
the home of the leader, Mrs. Leon-
ard Schenk, on Saturday, February
11. Present were 12 girls and the
assistant leader, Mrs. Eben Weig-
and.
Discussions was held on the pat-
terns and instruction sheet. Each
one did stay -stitching on a piece of
material, learned how to alter the
length of the shoulder, and checked
the pieces of the pattern.
The next meeting will be Feb-
ruary 16, at the home of Iris Beck-
er. The leaders showed how to do
seam stitching, and the girls then
did it.
Roll call for next meeting: 'A
line in clothes that suits me." Home
assignment: (1) Buy material and
pattern; (2) Study the instruction
sheet and pattern; (3) Write name
on pattern sheet; (4) prepare mater-
ial for cutting.
Thirty-six ladies from Zion
Lutheran Ladies Aid attended a
Valentine social as guests of Zur-
ich Lutheran Ladies Aid, on Thurs-
day, February 9.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rader and
Sharon, viisted with Mr. and Mrs.
Wellwood Gill, at Grand Bend, on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sid Baker spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Hubert
Restemayer and family, at Platts-
ville.
Mrs. Bruce Seebeck and son, of
Hanover, visited with her moth-
er, Mrs. Cora Gaiser, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Felbaume,
of Kitchener, and Mrs. Wanda Mer-
klinger, of Waterloo, were week-
end visitors with Mr.. and Mrs. Al-
bert .Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Ed-
gar Restemayer.
