OBITUARY
Theo A. Mittleholtz
A highly respected citizen of Zur-
ich, Theodore A. Mittleholtz, died
suddenly last Wednesday evening,
January 18, following a heart seiz-
ure. He was in his 64th year.
For many years Mr. Mittlehol-
was employed as a plumber and
tinsmith with Stade and Weido, be-
fore entering business for himself
as a partner in the Rader and Mit-
tleholtz hardware. He retired from
business several years ago, due to
poor health, and has since been a
salesman for an automobile assoc-
iation. During the past year, he
has served as assessor for the vil-
lage of Zurich.
Mr. Mittleholtz was an active
member of the Zurich and District
Chamber of Commerce, and belong-
ed to the Holy Name Society. He
was born in Zurich, a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Mittle-
holtz. In 1919 he married the for-
mer Elenora Smith.
Surviving besides his widow are
Mr. Bob Pfaff, of Winnipeg, spent
a few days with his parents on this
highway.
The continuous dry and cold
month of January has played it's
role with the water problems a-
long highway 21. Farmers and
others, who do not have a rock
well are confronted with the water
problem. Unless a January thaw
is in the air the month will go on
record as a dry month which was
rather unusual.
Farmers with a large stock are
hoping for a change from the con-
tinuous cold to milder weather.
They say that even though there is
no thaw at least they will ride the
water wagon with more comfort.
This water shortage, that farm-
ers are facing, along with filled up
Ianeways is causing much worry to
the citizens of this highway. At
present time there is nothing pro-
mising for the immediate future.

More Employed
Criticism of the government for
the unemployment situation is un-
true and unfounded, G. E. Halpen-

Ha'penny said, "Our people are
earning more and spending more
than at any other time in our na-

A glance at her bank book and there's a
smile of satisfaction and reassurance --the
money is there when she needs it.
Like so many others, she has learned the
value of regular saving ... the safety, con-
venience and usefulness of a bank account.
There are millions of Canadians like her.
They maintain 12 million deposit accounts
in the chartered banks, 10 million of them
personal savings accounts.
But a chartered bank is more than the best
place to keep your savings. It's the only
place offering a full range of banking services.
It's the right place to do all your banking.
