Mrs. Oliver Surerus
Mrs. Oliver Surerus, the former
Barbara Gascho, passed away in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on
Monday, April 25, in her 72nd
year. She had been a resident of
Zurich for many years.
Born in Hay Township an March
14, 1889, she was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ga-
scho.
Surviving are one son, Leeland,
Zurich; one daughter, Mrs. Frank
(Geraldine) Kane, Montreal; two
sisters, Mrs. Mary Ravelle, Grand

two grandchildren. Her husband
predeceased her in 1932; two sons,
Myron and Gerald, both died some
years ago, and a third son, Clare,
was killed overseas while on act-
tive service in the Canadian ar-
my during the last war.
The body is resting at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich, until
Wednesday afternoon, when a pub-
lic funeral service will be held in
the Evangelical United Brethren
Church, Zurich, with Rev. A. M.
Amacher officiating. Interment
will be made in the Evangelical
U. B. Cemetery, on the Bronson
Line,

Charles S. Bedard
A highly esteemed Stanley
Township farmer for many years,
Charles S. Bedard passed away in
Clinton Public Hospital, on Thurs-
day, April 21, following a lengthy
illness. Some months ago he and
Mrs. Bedard had retired to live
in Zurich.
Born in Hay Township, on May 5,
1887, he was the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Simon Bedard. His
wife is the former Marie Brisson.
Surviving besides his wife are:
three sons, George, Stanley Town-
ship; Stance, Windsor; Leandre,
Young Old Teens

was made to St, Peter's Roman Ca-
tholic Church, St. Joseph, where
Requiem High Mass was sung by
Father Brisson, Woodstock; Father
I. J. Poisson, and Father C. A.
Doyle, Zurich. Burial was made
in the adjoining cemetery.
