Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schultz and family were recent visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Moses Erb. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Bowman and family, Waterloo, were Saturday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Len Bowman. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gingerich and Erlene have returned home af- ter an enjoyable two-month va- cation in Sarasota, Florida, Mrs. Roy Knoll and sons are spending a few weeks at the home of 1Virs. Knoll's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meyers. Mrs. Frank Kane, Montreal, is spending a few weeks in Zurich, while her mother, Mrs. Barbara Surerus, is a patient in South Hur- on Hospital. Len Wagner has returned home after being in St. Joseph's Hos- pital, where he underwent a suc- cessful operation on his eye. While in London last Thursday, Bruce Klapp and Henry Howald, visited at the latter's son, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Howald. George Hess is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, be- ing taken there by Westlake' Am- bulance. Arnold Merner, Sr., is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, taken by Westlake Ambu- lance last Monday. Mr. Merner fell on Sunday and injured his leg, causing a torn legament. Herb Uttley is a patient in Clinton Public Hospital, undergoing sur- gery there. Mrs. Laurette Weide and. Mrs. Henry Flaxbard were Sunday vi- sitors with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ra- der in Dashwood, also visiting with Mrs. Louis Kraft. Other visitors with Mrs. Kraft were: Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Klapp, Zurich, Mrs. Earl Thiel, Mrs, Ted Steinback and Miss Norma Steinback, all of Zurich. PHONE 59 ZURICH Lutheran, Churches Will Sponsor Good Friday Broadcasts The Lutheran Good Friday broadcast for 1960, entitled "A dying man speaks seven last words," has been released to 103 radio stations, said Rev. W. P. Fischer, Zurich, pastor of St. Pe- ter's Lutheran Church. The half- hour program of music by the Winnipeg Lutheran Chorale, and meditations by leading churchmen from across Canada, is scheduled to be heard over CJCSS (1240) Stratford at 1.30 p,m.; CHOK (1070) Sarnia at 3 p.m.; CFCO (630) Chatham, at 6 p.m.; and over CKCR, Kitchener, at 1030 p.m. Zurich and district Lutherans may recognize the voice of Dr. A. G, Jacobi, Kitchener, who is their Synod president. Dr. Jacobi gives the meditation on the sixth word of Our Lord from the Cross, "It is finished," He is known to many as the president of the Canada Sy- nod of the United Lutheran Church in America, William o Clausius William Clausius, a native of this district, passed away at the Stratford General Hospital, on Wednesday, April 6, in his 63rd year. Born in Hay Township, he had lived in East Zorra for the past 40 years. Mr. Clausius was not married. The body rested at the Francis funeral home, Tavistock, until Sat- urday afternoon, when a funeral service was held at 2.30 p.m., con- ducted by Rev. A. L. Sisco, of Knox United Church. Burial was in Mc- Tavish Cemetery. Surviving are three brothers, Henry, Zurich; Robert, Hay Town- ship; and Elmore, Windsor; and two sisters, Louise, Mrs. William Facey, Tavistock; and Amelia, Ta- vistock. James Parkins and John Robin- son made a business trip to Tor- onto on Tuesday, also taking in the Stanley Cup playoff game between Toronto and Montreal.
