Brown -Eyed Susans
1 cup margarine
3 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups flour
Cream margarine, add sugar,
salt, almond extract. Roll into
balls and place on greased cookie
sheet, flatten slightly. Bake in mo-
derate oven at about 400 degrees
for 10 minutes.

Frost with:
1 cup icing sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons hot water
4 teaspoon vanilla
Top with 1/2 a blanched almond
Golden Glow Salad
1 package lemon jello
1 cup boiling water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pineapple juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon white sugar
Chill above mixture and when
partly set add:
1 cup pineapple tidbits
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1 red unpeeled apple diced
lh cup chopped celery
2 cup finely shredded cabbage
Pour in mold, chill until firm,
serve on crisp lettuce.
Orange Salad.
1 package orange jello dissolved
in 1 cup boiling water. Add 1
spall can frozen orange juice.
When partly set add 1 can fruit
cocktail, pour into mold and chill.
Ginger Ale Fruit Salad
2 tablespoons gelatine
1/4 cup cold water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar
% cup grapes
1 banana
2 apples
1 orange
1 cup gingerale
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Soak gelatine in cold water for
5 minutes, then dissolve in a lit-
tle boiling water; add lemon juice,
sugar and ginger ale. Cut grapes
in halves, remove seeds, slice ba-
nana, peel and chop apples, peel
orange and separate into sections.
When ginger ale mixture begins
to thicken, add the frost and nuts.
Turn into mold and chill.
