Since the institution was opened 467
inmates have been admitted and it is
encouraging to . note• that there are
fewer inmates, now 84, than for many.
years. During .the year the little
Farm raised 20 tons of hay, 200 bush-
els of barley, 225 of oats, 30 of beans
40 of onions, 250 of potatoes, 1,000
of :inangoicls, besides smaller lots.
Hags to the amount of $615 were
sold also over $2,000 worth of Dutch
sets, also 7.000 boxes of raspberries
and 1,000 heads of cabbage. The av-
erage cost per inmate for food was
$1.06 t per week,

I was aalao quite surprised on. Xmas
clay to receive a box from the Women&
'Institute, Blake, Ont., Containing
candy, cake, wristlets and several
other things. It was saute very kind
and thoughtful of them.
The soldiers here in baerselce spent
a very enjoyable Xmas. We ltacl'
our company room nicely decorated
with evergreens and palter trimmings,.
The most of the married men brought
their wives to the barracks and we
had quite a spread for dinner. After
dinner there was n. big box of toys
brought in and Santa 'Clans 'come in
and gave them out to the children.
The colonel presented each one of his
men with a sliver '66th badge. Then
we had music and a big dance in the
afternoon.
Our battalion, the . 51st and Gard
ere supposed to leave for England
some time soon, 'at least that is what
our officers say and Edmonton papers
say so too. But we can't tell for
certain whether it is right or not. We
hen•r so many rumours in the armory,
so I guess we will never 'know when
we are going only. when we are 'en-
trained, and Shope that clay won't be
very far off as I would like very much
to get off to the front since that is
what I enlisted for. ,-

supplied by the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontafio for the
Police Village of Zurich.
Whereas by By-law duly assented
to by the rate,aaayers entitled to
vote on money bylaws of the
Police Village of Zurich in the
Township of Hay in the County of
Huron the said ratepayers declared
that they are in favor of obtaining
from tho Hydro-Eleotrio Power
Commission of Ontario a supply of
Electric power for the said Police
Village under Act and amendments
thereto.
And whereas the board of Trus-
tees of the said Police Village have
requested the Council of the said
Township of Hay in which the
Police _Village is situated to issue
debentures as provided in the
Power Uommission Act and to levy
and collect a special rate upon the
rateable property in the said Pollee
Village if or the payment thereof,
suoh debentures to be for the surf
of • +5068,:37 in all, repayable with
interest, es hereinafter set forth,

being the amount required to pro-
vide for the cost of work, plant,

tures, to provide for the Cost of a plant to distribute Electric Power to be
supplied by the Hydro Electric Power Commission of Ontafio for the
Police Village of Zurich.
Whereas by By-law duly assented
to by the rate,aaayers entitled to
vote on money bylaws of the
Police Village of Zurich in the
Township of Hay in the County of
Huron the said ratepayers declared
that they are in favor of obtaining
from tho Hydro-Eleotrio Power
Commission of Ontario a supply of
Electric power for the said Police
Village under Act and amendments
thereto.
And whereas the board of Trus-
tees of the said Police Village have
requested the Council of the said
Township of Hay in which the
Police _Village is situated to issue
debentures as provided in the
Power Uommission Act and to levy
and collect a special rate upon the
rateable property in the said Pollee
Village if or the payment thereof,
suoh debentures to be for the surf
of • +5068,:37 in all, repayable with
interest, es hereinafter set forth,
,wh&eh. is the amount of the debt
in:ten.ded to be created, hereby
being the amount required to pro-
vide for the cost of work, plant,

And whereas the Council of the
Corporation of the Township of
ETay d.eerns it advisable to submit

Village entitled to vote on money
by-laws, this by-law to provide for
the issue of said debentures and to
issne the said debentures if this
by law shall be duly assented to by
the ratepayers of the • said Police
Village entitled to vote on money
by. laws.
And whereas it is desirable to

tune and to make the prinoipal of
the said debt repayable in yearly
sums, being the currency of said
debentures, said yearly sums being
of smell respective amotints that the
aggregate aaoiount payable each
year for principal and interest in
respect of the said debt shall be as
nearly as possible equal to the, am•
aunt payable in each of the other
years of the said. period.
And whereas the total amount
to be raised annually by special

thereof is $168,000.

1, That for the purpose aforesaid
it shall be lawful for the Reeve and
Treasurer of the said Township to
borrow the sum of $5668.37 and to
issue and dispose of Debentures of
the said Tewnship Corporation to

such debentures- to be for the

be issued at one time and dated of
the date of issue and shall be pay
