..1V4onday, was December 21st, and
the beginning of winter. This is al-
so noted as the shortest day or the
longest night. We hope everybody
gets enough sleep these long nights.
While it will be gradual, but it will
surely' come when the days will be
longer, with a continuation of this
mild weather, really we will not know
when we will pass on into spring.
Mr. Harry Hess is showing a very
attractive Christmas tree, which is
beautifully decorated and lighted up
with'.elictric lights, and is indeed a
credit to the village and community.
We must congratulate Mr. Hess in
his efforts; having such a fine Christ-
mas spirit, and this demonstration
cannot help to radiate into the hearts
of .other citizens.
Don't forget the Christmas enter-
tainments in the village, first on
ThursdaY. evening, Christmas Eve.,
whenY.:the scholars of St. Peter's
Lutheran church will render their
annual program which always proves
very4interesting and with the spirit
of tF' occasion. • Then on Christmas
eveiii friday eve. the members of
Emanuel -Evangelical Sunday School
will gieTe.their annual program which
will agaili prove very interesting. Be
sure and get the Yuletide spirit and
atterM these programs.
