Announcement has been made by
Premier Ferguson that the Govern-
ment will launch an extensive edu-
cational campaign to encourage the
buying and eating of Cadanian pro-
ducts in Ontario. Radio lecture staffs
and newspaper men will all figure in
the program. "We are determined",
said the Premier "to show to the
people the real qualities of our pro-
ducts, to demonstrate the value of
our own markets and to prove to
them the advantages of buying at
home.
Changes in Representatives
Several changes have recently be-
en made in the agricultural 'repres-
entatives in Ontario, among which
are: J. A. Berry, former assistant
in York County, succeeds Mn Cook
at London; ,A, M. Barr, assistant ag-
ricultural representative for Huron
County, with office at Clinton, has
been appointed representative for
Grenville County with office at Kem-
ptville.
The Crop Situation
Reports of crop conditions for .the
latter part of August indicate that
the shoWers which fell in most seer
tions in Southwestern Ontario were
badly needed, as 'pastures had been
burnt up and corn and root crops
were suffering severely for the lack
of moisture. Harvesting thoughout
the province has been contlpleted and
excellent yields are reported. Alfalfa
:dsike and clovers yielded very satis-
factorily, as high as nine bushels per
acre of red clover having been re-
ported in Kenora district. Iany
drovers and cattlemen have reported
heavy losses on their grass cattle, due
to low prices and scarcity of pastur-
es, many are holding their cattle over
for the Christmas trade. Some ex-
cellent crops of barley, oats and
mixed grains have been harvested
this season. In.fNorfolk County oue
farmer securedi.tield of 1487 bush
-,-
els of oats froni 1 acres, a nearly
100 'bushels per sere.
