Messrs Herb Mousseau, Harry

were during th& past week on a camp
ing trip to Sky Lake, and done some
real fishing at LionsHea d, where
they captured some lake trout up to
eight pounds in weight.
Miss J. E. MacDonald, who is the
popular teacher of the Blake 4ellool,
and who epent her holidays nt her
home near Ripley, and part of the
holidays on a trip to the Canada
West, has returned to Blake to re•
sumo her duties as teacher.
Another important real estate was
transacted the other day when M.
Alfred Meidinger, of the Blue Water
.Highway, purchased the fine 100 -acre
farm from Mr. Wm. Thiel, of the
Bronson line. Possession will be giv-
en March lst next. Mr. Thiel will
likely retire from farming for the
present, as his health is not robust.
• While driving along the Bronson
Line, Hay, the other evening, Mr,
Elzar Mousseau was surprised when
all of a sudden a cow jumped out in
front of his car, or on the front end
of the car. Therath er heavy impact
or sudden stop did practically no
damage to the cow, but the Forn
roadster got by far the worst of the
deal by having fenders, lights and
dame ed • suite seriously.
Mr. Harold Klopp is visiting with
his parents on the 14th.

Delegates, attended the third Bi -An-
nual Convention of -the Luther Lea-
gue of Canada, held at Stratford, on
August 31st and Sept.ast.

We are in receipt of information
from the authorities that in future
all persons connected with any auto
accidents in Huron County with dam-
age of $50.00 or more, which includ-
es property damage or personal lia-
bality or injuries, MUST report same
to the authorities, of which our pop-
upar Traffic Offficer Mr. Norman
Levier, Clinton, Phone 91, will be on
the scene of accident as soon as pos-
sible and render his official service.
A neglect to report the accident will
make one liable to heavy penalty;and
suspension of driver's licenses.
County Offers Scholarship to Stud-
ent IN Agriculture.
The Huron County Council has
voted $50.00 towards a scholarship
for a County boy attending the Ont-
ario Agricultural College. This a-
mount will be supplemented by a sin
iliar sum from the Massey hind at
at the College. That is to say, the
lucky student will receive $100.00
during his first year at the College.
This amount should represent a
large part of the first year's expens-
es of a boy attending that institute.
The conditions are briefly as foll-
ows:
1. Applicants should be farrner's
sons residing in Huron County.
2. Applicants must be eighteen
years of age on or before -Sept 19,
1920, the opening clay of College.
3. Applicants may enter either
the two year. Association Course or
the Degree Course.,
4. Applicants should figure on tak
ing up fanning as their vocation at
the conclusion of their college course
5. Only one scholarship is avail-
able for the year 1930-31.
6. Th etotal amount of the school
arship is $100,00, payable in two in-
stalrnents, one at the opening of the
Fall Term and the other at the open-
ing of the Winter Term.
7. Applications along with char-
acter and other recommendations
should be mailed to The Ontario De-
partment of Agriculture, Clinton, not
later than September 10th.
8. If a number of applications are
received it naay be necessary to have
the applicants appear before a com-
mittee to decide the winner.
It is not necessary here to dwell
upon the advantages of a course in
Agriculture at suit a well known in-
stitution, There should not be zee/ -
city of suitable applicants; Therefore
it is hoped that env boy contemplat-
ing entering the O. A. C. this fall will
