IVIr. Austin Hey, of Detroit, spent
the week -end under the parental
roof.
Mr. Nesbitt Woods, of the Toronto
Public School teaching staff is spend-
ing the week with Mr. and Mrs. T.
L. Wurm.
Messrs. Robert Eisenbach, Claytus
and Leo Mittleholtz of Kitchener,
were Sunday visitors with their rel-
atives in the village.
Mr. Milton Hey, of Detroit, accom-
panied by Miss Taylor of Windsor,
were week -end visitors at the home of
the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Hey, Jr. Milt is one of the Zurich
boys who is doing well in the busy
city of Detroit, having been employ-
ed with an electric accessory concern
for a number of years, and this firm
having recently openedup another
branch in. Detroit, and Appointed
Milton as manager of this new branch
which is well worthy of comment. He
is sporting a fine new Dodge 8 auto.
STEPHEN COUNCIL.
The Council of the Township of
Stephen convened in the Town Hall
Crediton, on Monday, April 7th.
at 1 o'clock p.m. All members pres-
ent. The minutes of the previous
meeting wre read and a dopted.
The Clerk reported that the Treas-
urer had received a cheque from the
Provincial Government for $6148.44
in payment of the grant towards
Highway expenditures for the year.
1929.
That By-law No. 436 being a By-
law No. 437 a By-law to repeal By-
law No. 431 for restraining, regulat-
ing and prohibiting dogs from run-
ning at large and By-law No. 438
being a By-law to provide for the sal-
ary of the Medical Offcer of Health
for duties to be performed under
"The Public Health Act," each hav-
ing been read three times be signed
by the Reeve and Clerk and the Seal
ofe th Corporation attached thereto.
That Mr. William P. Lovie be ap-
pointed Road. Foreman for Rd. No.
20 in place of Adelbert Webb, de-
ceased.

Harold Drummond is moving his
butcher business down to the Jack-
son store where he intends to also put
in a resturant.
Mrs. Johns of Guelph, spent a few
days last week at the home of her
brother, Norman Cook.
The death occurred in Hensall on
Tuesday last of John Leper, a well
known resident of the place. He has
been in failing health for over a year
and his death was not unexpected.
He leaves to mourn his loss his widow
formerly Mary Carlyle.
Wm. Beaver; who recently was a
visitor with his daughter, Mrs. Brew -
ley at Kitchener, has returned home.
Mrs. Ernest Moodie, who has been
here for some months and during the
death of her father, the late Walter
Habkirk, left for her home in Bran-
don, Man.
Albert Smith, of London, visited
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Smith.
On Tuesday eve. last, D. A. Cant-
elon, T. Welsh, Fred Hess and John
Passmore, made an auto trip to Kings-
ville to visit Jack Miner and his bird
sanctuary, arriving there in the early
hours of Wednesday morning. After
resting a few hours they were still
able to get out in: good time to see
the wonderful bird collection that is
so noted and of which mention is
made in so many papers,
