Spring, according to the , calander
was ushered in on Friday last, and it
was indeed a cold and winterlike raw
wind from the north. "The old weath-
er prophet tells us that the dirbction
of the wind on this day wil rule the
entire season in general., and if this
is the case we can look for an abund-
ance of cold weather in the coming
months. It sure has proven itself so
far to be true, as on Monday morning
we awoke to find almost a foot of
real snow on the level, with numer-
ous drifts, and the auto was obliged
to be left in the garage or travel un-
der` great 'difficulty, this was followed
cleat and rain on Tuerday, with

SUNDAY SERVICES
Awakening Reflections.
God is not a luxury for our sunlit
exaltation nor a convenience for our
distress emergencies. He is the soul's
supreme need; the daily bread with-
out which life is a famished failure.
He is our daily breath in which we
live, move and have our being. He
is our light for life's shadowed paths.
He. is our home, our dwelling place.
would you build a great man and a
great nation, then don't live a life of
ease and pleasure but one of respon-
sibility, duty and quality. When in
business for God, bankruptcy is im-
possible. If you must swear, lock
yourself up so you won't be interr-
upted or embarrassed. You cannot
oorner a square pian. When God
grows an. oak he uses a hundred ye-
ars, when he wants a squash six mon-
ths is enough. Some people say ev-
erything with hatnmers, but it is bet-
ter to say it with flowers and smiles
and kindnesses and benedictions. The
men who make mistakes ' lead, and
bless the world and the seeming fault
less people run errands for them:
