Considerable improvements are be-
ing made around the parsonage of
St. Boniface Church of the village, as
considerable earth is being hauled on
the lawn for levelling purposes, as
well as other minor improvements.
Spring is now here with all its
fragrance, the farmers are very busy
putting in their seeding, and the
land is getting in good shape, and by
the end of the week, a great deal of
grain will be sown, if the rains keep
away. The ice has all disappeared
off lake Huron, and the fishermen at
St. Joseph are making preparation
to set their pound nets, and we hop
they will have a good season, with
abundance of fish.

Mrs. Stanburry Passes.
On Sunday, April 7th, there paseed
away at Exeter one of the oldest res-
idents of Huron County in the person
of Mrs. Jane Eliza Stanbury, widow
of the late Dr. Rich. Stanbury, of
Bayfield, in her 80th year. Born in
Ireland 1840, she came to Canada in
1847 with her parents, Rev. James
and Mrs. Stuart. Her father was an
Auld Kirk minister and shortly after
reaching this country the family set-
tled at Goderich. In 1886 she went
to Bayfield as governess to the dau-
ghters of Rev. H. Gibson, one of the
pioneer ministers of the Presbyterian
church, and two years later married
her late husband, who predeceased
her in 1911. She is survived by two
sons, Dr. John Stanbury, of Toronto,
