Business has been brisk in Police Magistrate Reid's Office at Goderich so far this month. Since the 1st of June a score of cases have been dis- posed of. For having. black bass in the close season two Stratford men were assessed each $10 and costs. There have been six cases of reckless driving, a fine of $10 and costs be- ing imposed in each case. For mak- ing false statements when applying for an automobile license the fine of $20 and costs. In twocases of in- toxication the fine 'in each case was $25 and costs. For peddling goods without a license $25 and costs were assessed. In a cose of assault the levy was $10 and costs. - A Luck- now man paid $100 anecosts. for having lipuor in a public place. Leav ing the scene of an accident cost the guilty one $25 and costs. ANNUAL MEETING Of The South Huron Womens' Institute The Annual Meeting of the Wo- men's Institute of South Huron District was held at the home of Mr. Charles W. Keddy, Hurondale, on Friday, June 8th, 1928 at 2.30 p.m. The president, Mrs. John. Hey Jr., of Zurich,.'presiding. About sixty delegates were present from the Crediton, Zurich, Exeter, Huron - dale and Seaforth Branches. _ The meeting was opened with the Institute Ode after which Mrs. Hey offered prayers. Miss Johns and Miss Woods, of Hurondale, favored us with an instrumental duett and this was followed by a pleasing solo by Mrs. T. Coates. Mrs. Elmore Klopp of Zurich, presented a very excellent paper on "The Influence of the Home; Mrs. Cruickshank of Wiegham, gave a talk on "Fed- eration" and included many help- ful suggestions along Institutes lines of work. ! Mrs. Kestle and Miss Harvey of Exeter, rendered an instrumental duett and Mies Wood then sang a solo. The Zur- ich ladies' quartette rendered a humorous selection which was fol- lowed by a beautiful duette sung by Mrs. Sippell and Mrs. Wenzel, of Crediton. The election of officers and -.trains - action of business then took placer Mrs. Browning, 2nd Vice President, of Exeter, in the chair. The min- rites of the previous annual meet- ing were read and adopted.
