CHAMPION MEAN JUAN
A man may use the mole on
the back of his neck for a collar
button; he may ride a freight to
save three cents a mile; he may
light the lamp with a splinter to
save matches; he may stop his
watch at night to save wear; use
a period for a semi -colon to save
ink, and pasture his grandmother`s
grave to save hay; but a man
of this discription is a scholar and
a gentl mnan compared with a man
who will take a newspaper and
when asked to pay for it puts it
back in the po'stoffice marked
"Refused."—Exchange.
In years that have gone, and
not so very long ago, advertising
matter could be seen all through
the country on sign boards, tel-
egraph poles, etc., but the dayhas
gone, because a farmer in his auto
drives too fast to read the posters.
Not many years ago farmers came
to town in buggies and wagons to
get their mail, do shopping and
other business. What a change
has taken place, f or to -day almost
every farmer has a mail box at
his gate, or telephone in the house
and his car to drive around in.
The way to get the farmers' at-
tenth n is by advertising in Ioeal
newspapers.
