A convention of the Liberals of
West Huron was held at Goderich
on Monday for the .purpose of
choosing a candidate for' the next
Provincial elections. Tho follow-
ing gentlemen were nominated :—
M. G. Cameron, K. C., the' present

F. Blair, J. C. Martin, all of Gode-
rich; J. W. Shaw, M. D., Robert
Holmes, Henry Beattie, S. Cooper,
all of Clinton ; J. N. McKenzie, M.
Dalton, Ashfield ; J. Young. Au-
burn: Wm.. Bernie, West Wawa -
nosh ; Jas. Spell, Hallett ; Young
Colborne ; J. T. Currie, East Wawa-
nosh; P. McDonald, M. D., Wing -
ham. All withdrew except Mr.
Cameron and lir. Proudfoot, and
on the taking of a ballot Mr. Camer-
on received a majority of the votes.
The nomination was then made
unanimous on the motion of Mr.
Proudfoot, amid enthusiastic ap-
plause. Mr. P. H. McKenzie, M.
P., South Bruce, then addressed
the convention on the questions of
the day.
