There is plenty of time to construct a rink before winter, if the right parties would. take hold. A higher standard of answering at the examinations for entrance into the faculties of education, and into the normal and model schools will hereafter be exacted by the department of eduoation . This is in pursuance of the policy adopted of improving the gnalifications of teachers. The age of.admissioi. in each cage will also be raised one year. To prevent a scarcity of teachers as a result of the abolition of the county- model schools, the Minister of Edenton will. on the inspector's : recommendation, ex- tend over until June 30 next year any certtfioate expiring in the meantime.
