ADDRESS AND PRESENTATION
A very enjoyable time was spent at
the home of Mrs. 3. Hoffman on Mon
day evening of the 27th ult. The
Ladies' Aict of the Evangelical church
met to have a farewell gathering and
presented Mrs Hoffman with a pede-
stal. The presentation was made by
Mrs, G. Oestricher (Treas.) and the
following address was read by Rev.
Mrs. Grenzebach,•
Dear Friend and Sister:—
It was cer-
tainly with deep regret that we, as the
Ladle's Aid of the Evangelical church
learned that circumstances have so
shaped themselves as to necessitate
the change of your residence.
We assure you that we keenly feel
the loss of our first charter member
especially so since we have always
in you a cheerful and willing worker,
for this your departure will be greatly
missed. But we must learn to say as
so many others have said when the
ties of Friendship have been severed
"Our loss will be gain to some other
part in the Master's vineyard"for we
have no doubt whatever that you will
be of some service in your new home.
As a slight token of our esteem and
the memory of the pleasant hours we
have spent together in our Ladies
Aid meetings we kindly ask you to
accept this small token of our love and
friendship, trusting that wherever
duty may find you in the future you
will always retain some kind remem-
brance of your sojourn among us.
We wish you and your family
every success and trust Heavenly
Father may lead you in pleasant
pathways.
Signed in behalf of our Ladies' Aid.
Mrs. 3. H. Grenzebacb, (Pres.)
Mrs. G. W. Shore (Sec.) •
Mrs. Hoffman made a suitable reply.
A short program was now rendered
consisting of a Duet by Messrs. Hoff-
man and Shore, a solo by Mrs. H.
Ehlers, a Quartette by Messrs Hoff-
man, Betchen, J. K. Ehlers and Shore,
a number of songs by the Ladies Aid
and an address by Rev. Mr. Grenze-
Bach. A few impromptu speeches
were also given.
A lunch consisting of ice cream and
cake was now served. After singing
'God be with you nill we meet again"
the members left for their respeetive
homes,
