the bank of Commerce here, is spend-
ing his holidays at his home in St.

_On , Friday evening, a, fast ball
game was played on the home grounds
between the Stars and Clinton. Only
five innings were played owing to
darkness, and the score stood 4-2 in
favor of the Stars. The Stars show-
ed old time form. The retarn game
will be played 'Wednesday on the
Clinton grounds.
The Zurich Senior baseball team
drove to Dashwood on Thursday
evening and played a five inning
game with a' team plata from the
delegates of the Lutheran Sunday
school Conference. The play vas
lively and the score held down 2 to 1
in favor of the delegates. There vas
a large attendance.

By-law No 7 authorizing the issue
of debentures of $7000.00 for 5 S No
7, was finally passed.
By-law No 8, authorizing the is-
sue of debentures for payment of the
telephone system, was discussed and
read the first and second time.
The clerk was instructed to notify
Jos Lawson, to observe the specified
time of completion of the Bell Bridge
and others, otherwise the Council
will be obliged to take action at once.
After the council passed accounts to
the amount of $685.49 and issued
orders therefore, the meeting was ad.-
journed until Saturday, the 5th day
of October, at 2 o'clock p. m.
