Paving Tenders Not Accepted
The tenders received for the paving
of • Clinton street were, opened and con-
sidered by the council, on Saturday
evening but not one of them were ac-
cepted for they were all considered to
be •tq,o high. However each contrac-
tors bid was returned to him With in-
structions to revise his figures as at
present they could not be entertained.
In some instances one contractor's
figures were three tithes as high as
another's and this wide discrepency_ in
the estimate caused a closer scrutiny.

Mr. Eldon McKinney took in the
celebration at Goderich on Monday
and left for Moorefield on Tuesday to
relieve for a douple of weeks. '
On. Friday when Mr, Robt. Shaw
was going for his daughter Bernice,
near Dungannon, he ran into some
sand and tipped the car over on its
side, breaking the wind shield. Very
little damage was done except to the
'steering apparatus. Mr. Shaw was all
alone in the carat the time and never,
received a scratch. • - r•
Rev. Tate and Rev. Wilkinson ex-
changed' pulpits last Sunday, and both
gentleman gave excellent sermons.

A very pretty wedding took place on

Mr. and Mrs. George Dale, ,Seaforth.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
Eg George Telford. The bride was gown-
ed • in white crepe de chine with em-
broidered,,�veil and orange blossoms,
and carried a bouquet of Ophelia ros-
es and lilies of the valley. Miss Car-
rie Sins, sister of the bride, wore a
gown of green flat crepe and carried
pink roses. The flower girl, Miss Is-
abel Habkirk, was charming in pink
and 'carried a basket of sweet' peas.
Miss Gladys Taman played the wed-
ding march. The young' couple will
reside in Wingham.
