cession C., Hoick, was destroyed by
fire. The building contained some
farm -implements and hay. The cause
of the fire is unknown.

The vote on Power by-law on Tues -
clay was almost unanimous only one
vote being recorded against it. As
soon is the voting was over and the
result known, a meeting of, the village
trustees was held and a contract enter-
ed into with, the Fairbank-Morse Co.,
and work will be started. immediately.
It is expected our ,street lights will
be running in about one month.

Died In Winnipeg
•
Reeve Tipling received word oil Fri-
day of the death of Joseph Anderson,
Deceased has resided in Winuipeg,
since leaving Wingliam several years
ago. He was generally kiitwn as
Sugar Joe and was highly esteemed
by every one who knew him. He was
in the piano business for some years,
The i•emains were brought to Wing-
liatn on Monday, The funeral was
held from the C. P. R. depot to the
'Wingharn cemetery. The late Rich-
ard Anderson of Lindsay, was a broth-
er of the deceased. °
Dies At Supper Table •
George Thompson, grocer, a leading
business man "of Brussels, for more
than 40 years died suddenly on Mon-
day- evening while seated at the supper
table. He had been at his store all
day and appeared in his wind health.
The late Mr, Thompson was about 65
years of age. He served for several
years in the town council and was a
member •of the Presbyterian, church.
Besides his iindow. he is survived by
two sons and three daughter's, George
in Toronto; James, California; Mrs.
Charles Dodds of British Columbia;
Nits. Garfield Long of -Niagara Falls,
and Mrs. Cleve Baker ,of Brussels.
Expires In Motor Car
While returning home on Saturday
night after having visited with her
daughter, Mrs. Johnson of Living
Springs,,near Fergus, Mrs. McDonald.
of Brussels, expired in the motor car
in which die was travelling just as
the Aarty, consisting .of Mr... and Mrs.
Johnson and Mrs. McDonald were
passing through Elora.
The deceased was taken suddenly ill
-as the car was approaching Elora, and
died a few moments after it reached
Dr. Robertson's office
The body was taken in charge by an
Elora undertaker and was forwarded
to Brussels on Monday morning. De-
ceased was in her 68th year.
Mrs, Adam 1V1cBurney Dead
• A respected lady passed away on.
Tuesday, October 31st., in the person
el Mary Robertson, widow of the late
Ad.am McBurney. Mrs. McBurney has
•been ailing for some time at the home
of her brother, Mr. Geo. M., Robert -
sou, con.. 13, East Wawanosh. De-
ceased was 59 years of age and she
resided in WWII for a time with her
pareills, the late' Mr. and Mrs, David
Robertson, Centre St., Wingha.
One daughter, Miss Annie of
Tor-
onto, and one son, Robert,- who has
beenteaching school at Port Arthur,
survive. Two brothers and two sis-
ters, also survive, viz,; David of Tor-
onto, Ceo, M. of East Wawanosh;
NH's, W. J. Arbuckle of East Wawa -
nosh and Miss Chiistena of ,Wing -
ham, Another sister, ,Mrs. Harry Mc-
Gee, passed away a fexv years ago.
The funeral will be held. on Thurs-
day afternoon to Wingham cemetery.
Service will be coeducte'dft at the resi-
dence of her brother in East Wawa -
nosh at 2 o'cliack by Rev, Or. Perrier
of St. Andrews Presbyterian church,
