Dear Sir: I notice in your last issue of Town Council proceedings that the matter. of celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Incorporation. of Winghani as a town •was discussed, Reference was made that the Com- mittee in charge had given up.'the idea.., As a matter of fact, at the last meeting held according to the- Min- utes there ,was no intimation that the idea of a celebration had been aban- doned. Very true. an article a. short time ago said it was not a one-man job. I quite agree with ,you. It is a job for every citizen, young and old, to come forward and lend a helping hand so that the event may be a suc- ceee. Around one'hundred and twen- ty-five citizens signed a paper of their willinness.to assist and if there was any deficit would be willing to pay their share. 13ut why should it' fall. to 125 people out of a population of 2300. Ten years ago the Town-Coun- cil own•Color cil at that time backed the Committee to the extent of $500.00 in case of a deficit, which they were not called, upon to pay, as we at that time had a surplus of $260.00 -which went to charitable purposes. The present project was sponsored. by' members of Wingham Chamber of Commerce and citizens, but for lack of enthusiasm and co-operation of several business men who should take a leading part, it became `apparent that we lacked co-operation. But to be brief I cannot see how we can abandon the event from letters I have received from -several sources, show- ing the intentions of former citizens. A few of these letters I' ask you to publish. In fact, the home -coining week will be held and it is up to the citizens to help to put on entertain - can feed these with every confidence REDUCED PRICES for balance of rxaent that will do credit to our town that you are going to raise all your chicks, \\} e have proved that \Oat this season on Barred Rocks and S. the wee chick is raised on has a great C White Leghorn Baby Chicks and influence on the adult bird, in health .
