Threshing Red Clover Last season mechanical injury was reported in red clover seed which came from Central Ontario. The seed was broken or chipped and com- plaints of podr germination as a re- sult were received from Great Bri- tain. An investigation conducted by John D. McLeod of that department- al staff indicates that too early threshing is largely responsible for the injury and also 'unsatitable and poorly -adjusted threshers. Down in the Ottawa 'Valley nothing like this has been reported and Mr. McLeod attributes both the lack of damage and generally large retuns per acre to the fact that red clover is never part through the thresher until win- ter weather has set in and the crop is thoroughly dry. Also he recom- mends that the job be done with a ,huller or with a machine with a clo- ver attacheinent. Putting red clover through an ordinary threshed is con- dernned as wasteful, SOURED UN THE W0111111? -THAT'S, LIVER Wake up your Liver Bile --No Calomel necessary Many people who feel sour, sluggish and generally wretched make the mistake of taking salts,• oil, mineral water, laxative candy or Chewing !sunt, or roughage whioh only move the bowels acid r noro the liver.
