Mr. Gibson Gillespie is busy these
days overseeing the building of the

Mrs. Patterson, . of : Lucknow, is
spending a few days this week with

Rev, and Mrs. Leggatt, of Moles-
worth, were "guests at the manse on
Sunday, when he and Rev. 5. Pol-
lock exchanged work for the day.
Miss Green, of London, is visiting

of Lucknow, was present, and gave

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cameron and
family of Ashfield, spent Sunday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pur -

Miss Lavina Jones, of Toronto, is
visiting at the home of her parents,
in Kinloss.
Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Green, of
North Bay, are holidaying this week
at the home of her parents, Mr. and.
Mrs. Frank Henry,
Mrs. Gibson Gillespie, Jack and
Agnes, and Mrs. Chas, Gillespie, mo-
tored to London last week -end and
spent Sunday with friends there.
Mr. Joe Tiffin received .a very
painful wound in the neck last Tues-
day while working on the Gillespie
ditching machine at Auburn. He was
prying with a long crow -bar, when
it suddenly slipped and cut two very
long gashes across his throat. These
have proven to be very painful and
far some days he has been unable
to speak, but is improving now.
Mr. and Mrs. Lickley, of Toronto,
who have been for some months at
Kingston, Jamaica, spent last week
at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Frank
Henry.

Quite a number from here spent
a pleasant evening on Tuesday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martin,
when the neighbors and relatives
presented their daughter, Mrs. Em-
erson Austin, with a miscelalneous
shower. ,,
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Scott, of Cul-
ross, spent Sunday at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Conn.
Mr. Fred Newman and Mr. Gall-
aher of Hamilton, spent the week-
end' with their families, at the hone
of Mr. B. S. Naylor.

ren, three girls and two boys. This

Mrs. John Casemore visited at the

Mr. Bruce Edgar, of Toronto, vis-
ited at the home of his parents, 'Mr,
and Mrs. George Edgar, .last week.
A great gloom of sadness was cast
over this community last Wednesday
morning, when it was learned that
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Basal and
children, Irene and Johnnie, of Tor-
onto, attended the funeral of the late
Mrs. Wni. 5. Scott.
Master Clarence Golley spent the
week -end with his uncle, Mr. John
Abram. '
Mr. Kenneth Hedley, Kincardine,
visited with his uncle, Mr. J. Abram
this week. •
Mr. Hubert Kernel, of Preston, is
at present visiting. friends in this
vicinity,
Miss June Burke is at present vis-
iting relatives in Detroit.
Mr. an& Mrs. Charles Bosman vis-
ited the latter's sister, Miss Nellie
McKinney, of Clinton, last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Golley and
children, visited at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. George Casemore, last Sun-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Orr visited at
the home of the latter'a parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Casemore.
