Ladies' Aid of the Presbyter- ian Church will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday next at the home of Mrs. John Douglas, on the Brussels road, Dr. and Mrs. Armstrong visited on Sunday with Dr. and Mrs. W. J. M. Armstrong, at 'Mitchell, Miss Kathleen Litt, of 'Marntora, and Mr. Rennie, of Toronto, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. -Brad- nock. The regular meeting of the W. A. of the Unitech Church was held on Thursday of last week -at the home of Mrs, A. E. Toner. In the ab- sence of the president, Mrs. NV, G. Strong, the vice-president, Mrs, W. Gregg, presided. The meeting open- ed with hymn no four, followed with prayer by the Pastor. The Scripture Lesson was read. The minutes were road and adopted. After several it- ems of business, the Roll Call was answered, with a good attendance, The meeting closed with a hymn, and all repeated the Mizpah bene- diction. Refreshments were served by the lunch conutittee and •the hos- tess. Rev. G. W. Butt paid an official visit as convenor of the Religious Education Committee of the Huron Presbytery to the Goderich Summer School in Goderich on Friday last, Mr. Butt also conveyed greetings as President of the Alma .College- Sum- mer School, St, Thornes. A, Wassman has exchang- ed her hotel business here for a gen- eral store at Bornholm, five miles north of Mitchell on the highway. Mr. and Mrs. Inc). Dungey will be the new proprietors here and expect to take possession on August lst. Mr, Dungey was in the hotel busi- ness a few years ago and comes highly recommended. We are sorry to lose Mr. and Mrs. Wassman and Louise White from our village, and wish them success. The annual Memorial Service pro- moted by the Howick District L. O. L. will be held in the Fordwich cem- etery on Sunday, July 31st, at 3 p.m. Rev. G. Butt is to give the address. Mrs, R. G. Newton and sons have returned home after spending a few weeks .at the lake, Master Earl King returned house after, a week's visit with his aunt, Mrs, Thos. McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Ira McLean, Barrie, were visitors one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. King. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Moffatt and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. R. Cathers. Mr. Harry Brown, of Elora, was a visitor with Hector Hamilton on Friday. Mr. M. T. Abram, a former bar- ber here, has opened a barber shop in the building which Mr. H. Ash- ton used. Gavin Davidson who have spent the past two weeks at the home of Mr. John Davidson, return- ed to Oshawa on Monday. We are glad to know Mr. J. Davidson is much improved in health. An accident happened on 'Wed- nesday evening of last week on 2nd line of Turnberry, near the home of Mr, A. While in Ottawa they unexpectedly met the Misses Little, Davidson, Gamble and Schaab, who were also on a holiday trip and spent a few hours sight-see- ing together. Miss Delta, of Midland, is a guest at the VanVelsor home. Misses Kathleen and Agnes Durst are spending a holiday at Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Allen, Mr.: and Mrs. J. J. Allen, of town, Miss Mur- iel Elliott, also Mr; Harry Allen,' of Brussels, spent Sunday at Spring- bank Park, London, Mrs. B. Martin, Edith and Billie, spent last week visiting friends in London. Dr. and Mrs. Roy Smyth, of De- troit, were guests of Mr. Geo. Town for a few days, going on to Lions Head on a fishing trip, Mr. Geo. Town is visiting friends in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Henry and children of Chesley visited in town with friends last week. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gallaher; of Brusels, called on Mr. and Mrs. W. Gallaher on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kitchen are at present visiting with friends in To- ronto and Port Colborne. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Hemphill left for Montreal on Thursday, where they intend staying a few days. Mrs. A. McDougall is at present visiting her daughter, in Harriston. Miss Thompson returned home from London Sunday. Wm. Yoe, of Wingham, is visiting his daughter, Mrs. H. Chamberlain. Mr. and Mrs. C. Edgar, of Walk- erton, visited in the village last week. Miss Carrie Herrington, Mrs. Cun- ningham and the Misses Cunning- ham, of Brussels, visited the Misses Howe on Thursday. Misses Agnes and Kathaleen Durst are visiting in Listowel. Mr. J. R. Wendt purchased a new, Hudson -Essex coach, a 1932 Pace- maker model. Gcir. Spotton, M.P., was i: n the village, Tuesday, on business Mr. and Mrs. Nixon and two' children, of Winnipeg, are on a two- weeks' visit at John McCuteheon's, (Mrs. Nixon's brother.) Mr. and Mrs. J.
