On Sunday morning St. James Church was the scene of a beautiful and impressive service when a large congregation were present and some 18 candidates were received into membership by confirmation. The service was in charge of the Rector, Rev. R. Jones and Rev. C, A. Sea- ger, Bishop of Huron, who preached an inspiring sermon, choosing for his text, "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall ex- ceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of heaven, St. Math, 5:20. A united choir from the three charges sang "There were Ninety and Nine." Mrs. Frank Mitchell and two dau- ghters, of Detroit, formerly of Wro- xeter, are week -end guests with Mrs. T. The local L.O.L. will hold their annual Church service in St. James' Church on Sunday evening next at 7.30 o'clock when the Rev. E. S. Hayes of Wingham, District Chap- lain, will be the preacher. Waller received word from Mrs. Waller and Katie, to say they had arrived in England, after a pleasant voyage, although the wea- ther was very cool, without much sunshine. They are now enjoying a visit with relatives and friends at their former home in the old land. Dr. Frank Allan, of the Mayo Brothers staff, Rochester, Min., vis- ited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.
