The many friends of Miss Mary
Collie will be grieved to know that
she has suffered a severe stroke of.
paralysis, and is in a critical condi-
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. James Breckenridge
have returned home after spending
their honeymoon trip with friends in
Michigan and Sarnia. They will re-
side onthe groom's farm, just east
of the village.

singing a hymn 'Come, my soul, thy
suit prepare," Mrs. Morrison led in
prayer. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and adopted. Mrs.
J. J. Fell read the last part of the.
fourth chap. of the Study Book, and.
the letters from ,our fields were read
by Mrs. Breckenridge, Mrs. Mann,
Mrs. Gannett and Mrs. Thornton,
Mrs. Jos. Curtis gave a splendid talk
on Christian Stewardship, and also
stressed a more regular attendance
at the W, M. S. meetings. After the aim
hymn "Soldiers of Christ, arise," was
sung, Mrs. Mann closed with prayer.
An invitation has been extended to
the Wroxeter Auxiliary to meet with
the Bluevale ladies at their next
meeting, July 19th, and all the ladies
of the Bluevale and Ebenezer con-
gregations are cordially, invited to
be present.

The race meet held on Wednesday
afternoon in the driving park drew
a fair crowd of spectators. The play
entitled "Only A Step -Child" was
presented in Memorial Hall in the
evening and was the best play pre-

The annual Memorial Service was
held on Sunday evening in Memorial
Hall. Services in all the churches
were withdrawn and the choirs unit-
ed provided the music, Rev. Ken-
neth MacLean, of Wingham, gave
the address. His thence was "What
Causes 'War", and he vividly por-
trayed from the time of the Caesars
that men loved war, and resorted to
the sword to settle all difficulties
Chivalry and honor are characteris-
tics of the British people, The speak-
er described the types of men the
various countries had produced,
bringing to our minds the steadying
power of the British people. Rev..
Mr. Weir read the names of the
boys who fell in the Great War, Rev.
Mr. MacLean' led, in prayer. "God
Save the Icing" brought this mem-
orable service to a close.
