Potato Market Demands Quality
The merchandising of potatoes, as
in. the cose of most other commod-
ities, is in 'a state of change and
growers who propose to keep abreast
of the times must of necessity recog-
nige that fact. This is the opinion'
of J. T. Cassia, Central Ontario Po-
tato Growers' Association. One evi-
dence of this change is that many
consumers in cities and towns are,
becoming interested in the manner
i,a which potatoes are grown. They
are beginning to ask if the potatoes
have been grown from certified seed,.
if they have been sprayed to prevent
ling. blight, and many other questions
ates Pertaining to production. And even
Bredrom greater numbers are'asking for a dis-
tinct variety of potato.
crop' Growers who select their seed
mar -carefully, and who follow the best
cultural practices will, in general,
produce a higher yield of potatoes
of a quality which meets the exact-
ear- ing demands of today's consumer.
