In his younger days he was engaged in brick -mak- ing at London, Ont., later going to 1 the southern States, where he was, employed on a sugar plantation. He also \corked for the Illinois Central railroad as brakeman for a time. He returned to Ontario and engaged in farming up to the time of his com- ing west. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, two sons and three daughters, Earl, of Wapella, Sask., Jack at home, Mrs. W. H. Boyle, of Fenwoad, Sask., the Misses Melrose and: Jessie at home.
