Cheese. Exports .Increase
Cheese exports from the port of
'Montreal to May 10 reached ,a total
of 906,185 'lbs, as compared with
653,820 lbs., for the corresponding
period last year. Exports of cheese
last year totalled 84,788,400 lbs., with
the United' Kingdom taking 80,565,-
500 lbs.
Hay Market Outlook
The latest edition. of the Hay Mar -
:et Report of the : Dominion Seed
Branch shows that good bay is re-
ported in fair demand in the domes -
'c markets of most cf the cities and
towns in Canada, but of course the
total amount required for this trade
is small when rampared with the
surplus of hay available in the com-
mercial bay growing districts in Can
oda. There are still substantial
quantities of rnixed and timothy hay
iaa the Saint John River Valley and
the Sackville, Fitton and Truro dis-
tricts of the Maritime Provinces. in
the Uppee. Si. Lawrence Valley and
the Montreal district, Quebec, and in
Ontario. particularly in the Ottawa
Valley, and the \ iartcin, Inwood,
Sudbury and Nerth Bay district..
