Lovatt of St. Catharines, He leaves his wife, formerly Miss Beatrice Me - Brien and daughter of Mrs; 14fcl3rien of the village; and four children, Thelma, Nelson, Pearl and Charlie, to mourn him, He is being brought to the home of his mother, Mrs, Lovatt, of Clinton, Mrs. Lovatt her- self, has been laid up with rheuma- Itism for some time, Many friends and relatives in this neighborhood extend sympathy to the bereaved family. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hutchison and his mother, Mrs. Wm. Hutchi- son, moved last week from London to their home west of Lucknow. We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Hutch- ison is now blind. Many old friends will be pleased to welcome them home again. Mr. and Mrs, Irvin Henry and son Ross, of Belfast, visited on Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs, R. Pardon, Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Miss Jean Wellwood spent the pest'' week in Wingham at the home of her aunt, Mrs. John Falconer, Miss Frances Robinson, of Wing - ham, spent the week -end with Miss Florence Beecroft. Miss Janet Craig and Dawson, al- so, Mr. Alec Coulter, spent Sunday with the latter's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Frank Coulter. During the high winds on Mon- day, Mr, George Murray's house caught on fire and burned down; as the wind shifted around a spark from the burning house kindled the roof of the barn on the old McKin- non farm, east of the Murray farm and burned it down. Although part- I3,- covered by insurance, they will be greatly inconvenienced before they can build their home again, and the neighbors sympathize with them in their loss. Mr. and Mrs, Elwood Barbour and children spent Sunday last with Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Hetherington of Mor ris, Mr, Harry McClenaghan and child ren of Belgrave, spent Sunday at the home of his brother, Mr, Robert Mc Clenaghan. Mr, and Mrs. G. Sallahay and dau- ghter, Vera, and Mr. Dan McClosky of Tgronto, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wright of Thedford, were vistors at the home of the former's sister, Mrs. Bert Thompson last week. SALEM Mr, and Mrs. A. E. Gallaher and son, Elsner, spent a couple of days last week with the former's son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Earl Acheson of Landon. Mr. and Mrs. Elslic and family from near Londesboro, have moved on to the farm recently vacated by Mr, and Mrs, Andrew Douglas. We welcome them to this community. Mr. and Mrs, Dr. W. W. Weir and son, Malcolm, of Toronto,called at the home of Mr, and Mrs. D. L. Weir on their way to Kincardine.
