with their mother, Mrs, Alec Reid

United Church here are being held

that Mr. Ralph Cameron, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Cameron, of Ash-
field, was operated on in Wingham
General Hospital on Friday for ap-
pendicitis and is getting along very
nicely.
Mr. and Mrs, Robert Purdon and
children visited one day last week
with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Henry of
Belfast.
Miss IVlary Laidlaw is very ill at
present. We hope to hear of more
improvement,

at Seaforth, with her parents, Mr..
and Mrs. Andrew Kirk.

paid his spring visit to S.S. No. 14

men's Institute will be held . Thurs-

An interesting questionaire is also
being arranged, The ladies of the
community are cordially invited to
attend the Institute meetings. Mem-
bers are asked to make an effort to

Anniversary Services for Knox
Presbyterian Church are announced
for Sunday, June 12th when it is ex-
pected that Dr. Grant of Toronto,
secretary of the Board of Missions,
will conduct services morning and
evening,
A good deal of anxiety was felt
by the villagers and the people of
this neighborhood when it was
learned that there was a big possib-
ility that the • C.N.R. station would
be closed as an agent station, The
Municipal Council are in possession
of some papers which :were drawn
up' when the railrolid was put thru,

others are making every effort to
have the station retained. A peti-
tion is in circulation and has been
extensively signed by ratepayers.
The Bluevale station does more
business than the average station in
a small place.
The funeral of the late Mrs. John
F. Messer, which was held from her
late residence on Wednesday after-
noon of last week, was largely at-
tended by relatives and friends pay-
ing last respects to a kind and lov-
ing neighbor and friend. The serv-
ice was conducted by the late Rev.
Wm. Patterson, of Knox Presbyter-
ian Church. Interment being made
in the Bluevale Cemetery. Some of
the relatives and friends from out
of town attending the funeral: Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey Messer, Charles
Messer, Mrs. Sarah McKinney and
son, Russell, and Mr .and Mrs. El-
don McKinney, Toronto, Mr. and

was a visitor with her uncle, Gor-

been ill for some time has gone to
the Homewood Sanitorium, Guelph.

Mr. Ralph Cameron suffered a
sudden attack of appendicitis and
was operated on in Wingham Hos-
pital last Friday. We hope for a
rapid recovery.

Commerce, Lucknow, has been.
transferred to Hickson.
Miss Elliott, of Wingham, spent.
the week -end with Miss Elsie Vint.

were recent visitors with Mrs. R. J.

in Guelph on Thursday for the Grad-
uation exercises of the General Hos-
pital, Miss Margaret Thom was one

wood Barbour.
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Anderson and
Mrs. Sherriff were at Alma on Mon -
da yattending the funeral of their
aunt, Mrs. Jas. Miller, who died in
Centre Butte, Sask., last Wednesday.

chester, were week -end visitors with
the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Miller.
The annual meeting of the Wom-
en's Institute will be held at Mrs.

With deep regret we learned of
the death of one . who came to us
'fast winter a stranger, but by her
sterling character those who came
to know her learned to admire and
love her, Mrs. David Milne, who
passed away in Wingham Hospital
last Sunday with • pneumonia. She
came from Saskatchewan last winter
with her husband to live in Luck -
now. We tender to the husband and
his little baby girl our deepest sym-
pathy in this, their hour of bereave-
ment,
Our sick patients in Wingltam
Hospital with penueznonia are: Mrs.
A. Carter and Mrs, W. M. Champ-
ion; both are getting along as well
as can be expected.
Mrs. W. T. and Beryl Gardner of
Zion, spent a few days with Luck -
now and Rapid City friends last
week.
We welcome Mr. and Mrs. James
Burns and family to our vicinity;
they have moved; into the Beaton
house, north of the C,N.R. depot.
