Mr. and Mrs. Will Reid of Paris and Mr. - and Mrs. Russel Reid of Brantford, spent the week -end here with their mother, Mrs, Alec Reid and with Mrs. Murray. The Anniversary services of the United Church here are being held on Sunday, June 12th: Mr. and Mrs. George Tiffin spent Sunday at the home of the latter's sister, Mrs. Cecil Falconer. Many will be interested to know that Mr. Ralph Cameron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cameron, of Ash- field, was operated on in Wingham General Hospital on Friday for ap- pendicitis and is getting along very nicely. Mr. and Mrs, Robert Purdon and children visited one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Henry of Belfast. Miss IVlary Laidlaw is very ill at present. We hope to hear of more improvement, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Beecroft and Ernest and Florence spent Sunday at Seaforth, with her parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Andrew Kirk. Inspector Beacom from Goderich, paid his spring visit to S.S. No. 14 on Wednesday last, and Inspector Bauld, of Port Elgin, paid his visit' tc Whitechurch school on Thursday. The Bluevale station does more business than the average station in a small place. The funeral of the late Mrs. John F. Messer, which was held from her late residence on Wednesday after- noon of last week, was largely at- tended by relatives and friends pay- ing last respects to a kind and lov- ing neighbor and friend. The serv- ice was conducted by the late Rev. Wm. Patterson, of Knox Presbyter- ian Church. Interment being made in the Bluevale Cemetery.
