ible, arrives, in the Dominion shortly, there will
-t+e no excuse for any Canadian being ignorant of her
visit. The news will be broadcast throughout Canada
;by the Trans -Canada Broadcasting Company from
.coast to coast over the radio programme transmission
system of the Canadian Paeifie Railway Company's
Telegraphs.
The arrangements will include a twenty-four hour
service on the day of arrival and will be put out
through stations in Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Lon-

serious accident occurred at White-
church station on Saturday evening,
when Mr. Alec Mowbray drove his
tractor upon the gangway to load it
onto his truck .to take it back into
ultoss where he had a road job on
hand, AViten lie went to stop it, the
brakes refused to work and it went
right aver on the north side, throws
ing him about 14 feet over onto the
cinder track where he landed on his
face and shoulder, He was very bad-
ly shaken up and bruised, especially
one arm which had been recently hurt
when cranking a car, The tractor was
not so badly broken as one would ex-
pect, and with soine repairs will be in
working condition in a few days: Mr.
Mowbray Went to his home in Blue -
vale and' will be -laid off work for a
few days.

tended the funeral of the late Mrs.
T, Ellis on Monday afternoon.
There was quite a severe frost here
on Monday morning,
There has been a great growth the
past couple of weeks and spring crops
and hay are making a fine showing,
apple trees are in bloom and promise
a good crop.
One of the old settlers passed away
at her home on the 4th line of Morris
on Friday in the person of Mrs, T.
Ellis, aged eighty, after being in poor
'health the last few weeks.- She is sur-
vived by one son, Thomas, at home,
and one daughter, Mrs Chas, Draper,
who have the sympathy of the com-
munity. The funeral was held to the
i3russels cemetery on Monday after-
noon.'.

The play, "A Pair of Sixes," was
presented in the Foresters' Hall, Bel -
grave, by the Blyth Citizens' Band on
Friday evening under the auspices of
the Anglican church. The play was
much enjoyed by the audience and
much credit is due the actors who
took their parts so well. The Toll
Orchestra was present and played
several. selections.

The piano' i-ecitaI which was given
in the Forester's Hall, under the aus-
pices of Miss Sarah Cole, was well
attended and a very enjoyable even-
ing was spent. Miss Mary Stewart,
of Blyth, assisted by singing a nine-
ber of vocal solos, and Miss Snider
of Clinton; also sang several .rutto-
hers, Pupils of Miss Cole also gave
piano numbers. The Toll Orchestra
nave several selections all of which
were well received.

On Sunday evening Rev. Mr. -.Mean
preached a very fine sermon taking as
liis text,; Acts 9:35, .making reference
to Queen Victoria. The church was
'Aautiful1y decorated with flowers and
flags and a picture of the late Queen
Victoria was placed in front of .the
pulpit.' Mr. Mann was in London and
attended her funeral and saw all the
leading Kings and monarchs that at-
tended the funeral and gave a brief
outline of what has become of most
of them ,since, including the Kaiser,
Czar, etc. Mrs. Leonard Gates rend-
ered a fine solo .at the service "Beau-
tiful Isle of . Somewhere."
