day, May 13. The ministers of the
Presbyterial also meet here at that

spent"Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W.
Leggatt and other relatives here.
Miss McKinnon leaves next week for
a five month visit with relatives in

'Women's Institute will be held. on
Friday, May 9th, at the home of Mrs.
W. R. Farrier. This will be the El-
ection of Officers and every lady in
the community is invited to be pre-
sent.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weaver and
family- attended the funeral of the late
Mrs, Henderson, who passed away in
Wingham Hospital after a long illi
ness from sleeping sickness.
Early Saturday morning the frame
house on the farm of Mr, Robert Hut-
chison, was burned to •the' ground.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hutchison and
Doris, who have been living there
saved practically nothing of the con-
tents. Jack had put on the morning
fire and gone to the barn when a
neighbor drove in to tell them the
roof was on fire and Mrs. Hutchison
and Doris just got downstairs before
the stairs fell in. They. are living at
present in Mr. John Craig's house,
near their farm. The neighbours sym-
pathize with then in the loss of all
the contents of their home.
Al, and Mrs, Elwood Barbour and
children and Mrs. Jas.• Barbour spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Bar-
bour of Goderich, .
Mr, Harry McClenaghan and child-
ren of Belgrave visited on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Laidlaw.
Mr. Albert Cameron and family
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Wm.
Purdon. Mrs. Cameron has not been
as well as her many friends would
have wished.

In spite of the great attractions at
both Wingham and Lucknow last
Friday night, a big crowd gathered in
the .Institute Hall to see the Young
People of the Bkievale United Church
present their three -act play "All of
a Sudden," Great credit is due them
for the manner in which they pre-
sented the various parts and it was
enjoyed by all. Mrs. W, R. Farrier,
Miss, A, M. Carrick, Chas, Martin anct
J. D. Eeecroft rendered several quar-
tette selections and Miss .Beatrice
Thornton of Bluevale sang "The Bells
of St. Marys". after the second act,
The proceeds amounted to nearly $80.
Mr, and Mrs. Irvin Henry and on
Ross, of Lucknow, spent Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Purdon.

preached an excellent sermon taking
as his text "pitching one's tent to-
dard Sodom." Next Sunday Moth-
ers' Day services wil be observed,
when a mothers' choir will render
special music.

grave were Sunday visitors at the
home of Miss Martha Fraser.
Mr. Boyde of Knox College mot-
ored up from Torontc and took the
services on Sunday morning at Blue -
vale and Eaddies'.
