Over ten dollars was taken in from
Birthday collections, Mrs. Victor Em-
erson and :firs. T. 1.), Beecroft being
leaders for the past year. Mrs. Bee -
croft's sidehad collected the most,
so the choice for the honour of the
life -membership was taken from her
list, and it was carried unanimously,
that Miss Christena Laidlaw was to
be the recipient of this, the highest
honour that the Society bestows on
its faithful and energetic workers. The
leaders for neat year are: Mrs, Far-
rier and Mrs. Chas Martin. The con-
venors for the W. M. S. teas for
1936 are, Mrs.- Pettapiece and Miss
Laidlaw. After the opening exercises
the collection was taken and the meet-
ing closed with prayer by the Presi-
dent. Mrs. Scholtz then served a tasty
luncheon, and all enjoyed the social
half hour.

Council a matter of interest to our
village was introduced by a delega-
tion composed of J. B. Watson, Ab.
Taylor, E. Pollard, B. Holland, Lorne
Srrnigeour, namely the need of an
open --air rink and council assisted to

the extent of $150.00 by way of grant
ing water and light. James Dought-
ery was employed by council to plow
the snow off sidewalks at '$2.00 per
trip.

Christmas with friends at Ridgeway.

The annual White Gift service will
be held in Queen St. United Church

Mr. John Miller, Deputy C. Master
of West Bruce. County L.O.L.; was a.
visitor at North Huron Count.' Lodge
held in Wingham last Tuesday, his
brother, Thomas Miller, was elected
County Master for North .Huron for
the:' ensuing year. North Huron re-
commended Listowel town for the
1936 July 12th celebration,
Mr. Wm: Stanley held a very suc-
cessful wood bee last Tuesday.
Mr. John Miller visited on Tuesday
last with Mr. Wm. McQuillan at St.
Helens.
L.O.L. Lucknow 428 will hold their
election of officers on Tuesday even-
ing and the installation of officers for
the Sepoy L.O.B.A, on Wednesday
