The Neighborhood Workers Assoc-
iation of Toronto are again appealing
to those who can give a holiday to
some city child that would not oth-
erwise be able, during the heat of the
summer, to enjoy a much needed va-
cation.
Last year through the efforts of this
association and the kindness of those
who took children, 10;017 Toronto
youngsters had a healthful holiday in-
stead of spending the whole summer
on the pavements of •the city.
Like flowers, children without
ground contact, wither. They need to
get off thecement—to romp in grassy
places—to expose their bodies to the
kiss of the sun and the warm and fra-
grant breezes..
The only pay In connection with
giving such a holiday through this or-
ganization, to some child, is the pleas-
ure and satisfaction of so doing. The
children are all medically examined
before leaving Toronto, and their
transportation is paid.
If you can give a holiday to one
or more children, or help this work
in any way, please write F. N. Stalpe-
ford, Neighborhood Workers' Assoc-
iation, 22 Wellesley St., Toronto.

MR. HEPBURN
HAS HIS CHANCE
For the first' time in 29 years a Lib-
eral Government is in power in On-
tario. The very heavy poll, most of
which went to Liberal candidates was
an indication that the people of On-
tario were very anxious in these.
troublesome times to try a change of
Government.
The youthful leader of the. Liberals
will soon be seated in Queen's Park
and he has stated that he will sur-
round himself with the best Cabinet
material available. With a great ma-
jority of the members to back him -up
Mn Hepburn should be able to carry„
out policies he advocated to make, as
he says, "Ontario just a little better
place inwhich to live."
Now that the election is over pol-
itical difference should be forgotten
and all swing along together to help

TELEPHONE PIONEERS`
MEET IN TORONTO
The Charles Fleetford Sise Chapter
of the Telephone Pioneers of America
is holding its annual convention at
Toronto on Friday and Saturday,
June 22nd and 23rd.
The Telephone Pioneers of Amer-
ica was organized in November 1911,
on a continent -wide basis, as the name
implies. The requirement for "mem-
;bership is 21 years' service in the tele-
phone industry, not necessarily con-
fined to the Bell Company. The mem-
bership, of course, was small at . the
beginning, embracing only those who
had seen service prior ;to 1890, but
has since grown to an enrollment of
thirteen hundred members in Canada.
Outside of the personal association
which membership accords, the organ-
ization serves the useful purpose of
instilling into the younger members
of the telephone family the tradition-
al pioneer spirit that has made the
telephone service of this continent the
best in the world.
The President of the Charles Fleet
ford Sise Chapter is Mr. R. C. Doug-
las of London, and the Vice -President
is Mr. D. M. D'Albenas.
Mike had just arrived in America
and he and Pat were walking down a
street when Mike saw a barrel ,of
cranberries in front of a fruit store.
Mike says to Pat: "Shure, and what
do you call them things?”
"Shure, them's cranberries,” says
Pat.
"And are they good to ate?” asks
Mike.
"Shure they're good to ate," says
Pat. "Just stew them with a little su-
gar and they make far better apple-
sauce than prunes do,"
